Cut us some slack — in Russia people don’t really pay attention to the lyrics of English-language songs; we don’t really know much English here anyway. We hear some melodic words playing in the background, and we’re like, “Oh well, let’s go do some twizzles.”

Actually, I can sympathise with people listening to songs in different languages and not understanding what they are truly about. I like a lot of German and French songs, but don't always look up translations to find out what the song is about.

But the writer of this song has no excuse! They understand the words, but have still written a load of complete nonsense!

There’s a problem—the judges are insisting that background music be played during the twizzles!

I think this song is a kind of fantasy about the inner world of a person, loneliness, and kindred spirits—in short, the last thing the skaters should have been concerned with is the deep meaning of the lyrics. As a result, the dance ended up being too overloaded and pretentious.
I liked this pair’s classical tango in the FD much better. Especially since it’s been so long since I’ve seen a tango performed in emerald-green costumes.

This pair have that special vibe of single city dwellers—awkward and not very good at interacting with people. In every dance, it’s as if they’ve met by chance and felt a deep connection, but don’t know how to express it or how to get to know each other. And even the powerful energy of the tango didn’t overshadow that feeling. It’s charming.

It's ok for casual listener. But c'mon, if you use it for proffesional goal and want to biuld a program with some interpretation or story - no excuse. How hard it is to translate the lyrics in 2026? one click. And there are many people involved - choreographers, coaches etc. It would be very unproffesional and just stupid tbh.
Not saying it's the case for these team, maybe they checked it, liked it and got inspired

Oh... I would have never guessed it is about an unsuccessful psychologist therapy. It makes sense after an explanation. I am just not used to the thought that a song should require a libretto. In any case, IMO it is better than Hallelujah and the Girl with one eye: even with ample explanations I still can't be sure understand those two and that the people who explain do.
