To be honest, I agree with you, it's a lot of smoke into your eyes, they are overrated, but I have to recognize they have improved quite a bit

I thought they should have medalled with no need for a pewter medal . How on earth F/S got themselves into silver medal position is beyond me - I don't think their lead going into tonight was justified and I don't think they should have been that close to the two teams that finished just ahead of them on the night but just behind them overall. I'm not even sure F/S were the best Italian team tonight.

K/N won the free and the competition fairly. The Kerrs should've had the silver; their free dance was wonderful and I'm so glad I didn't watch it on Youtube before - much more of an impact this way. I would have liked to see P/B in third.

I totally agree, herios. K&N are entertaining to watch . . .for acrobats, but not dancers. Chalk up their accelerated rise to the top of the ice dancing heap to another bit of masterful politicking by Piseev.

How did Faiella/Scali get +GOE on that first lift? Once again he was wobbling on it (though not as badly as at NHK).

The issue is F/S get huge PCS scores and that keeps them in the lead and give them enough cushion. It happened at NHK, it happened again here with F/S vs. P/B. They skate much slower and this program, although inventive, it has not so much content technically.

Well, I guess this is where ice dance gets too subjective for me. I don't get them at all. I know Cappellini and Lanotte have been unhappy about the way they are scored compared with F/S (they think the margin should be smaller) and I completely agree.

But hey - John and Sinead won a medal!!! I remember their first Euros five years ago, when they had a Matrix FD and finished 10th. They came up to chat with the Eurosport team afterwards and seemed so thrilled with their performance. And finally they're getting the recognition they deservce!
