Lambiel will be back

I love this program, but I wish he would do something about the costume. The beads hanging off it don't work for me, and I find myself watching the program thinking it would be even better if he had a different costume. I really like his costume for the tango program.
i find all the boys' costumes distracting and that is the main reason I would prefer different coloured La Coste shirts and customed fittted trousers on all of them. No need to decorate, and it is NOT TRADITIONAL to decorate the costumes of the Men.

The beads hanging on his shirt went with some lyrics in the song...I think it was teardrops of rain or something like that; so when he does his headless spin, the beads look as if they're teardrops/raindrops!

Yeah, I think it's really cool. I read an interview when Stephane debuted that EX program, and he described that the hanging beads represent teardrops/raindrops. Awesome.

Yes, you're right. According to his official site shiny crystals represent "des perles de pluie" (pearls of the rain) and the spin in exactly on those words in lyrics.

This is the second time I noticed that Stephane used a gala number for exhibition purposes (the first being his immortal Flamenco) before turning them into competitive LPs

I think, it wasn't exactly so with Flamenco. Flamenco was prepared to be LP of the season 2006/07, but was not ready for Skate Canada. It was finished though till Swiss Nationals and was shown then as LP. After that Stephane withdrew from Euros so the next time Flamenco was shown to the audience was only during Art on Ice, in its "exhibition" form.

Wow, I had never seen that before! His artistic capabilities weren't fully developed here but it was so great to see him skate a clean program to some lovely music.
I presume you have not been following Stephane for many years.

What was I watching in Tokyo Worlds? For me, it was after an exhibition of Flamenco.

I thought that was a wonderfully musical interpretation to a magical soundtrack (one of my all time favs!):agree:

But the first time Flamenco was shown to the public was during Swiss Nationals of that season, as LP. So you can't say about Flamenco that "Stephane used a gala number for exhibition purposes before turning it into competitive LPs". It was created as competitive LP, it was presented as competitive LP. After that it was shown during Art on Ice as an exhibition program, too.

This seems to be an important issue for you so I will bow out only to say I saw an exhibition of Stephane working with his Spanish dancer choreographer, and then I saw it as a competitive routine in Tokyo. If it was otherwise, it was not the end of the world. Cheers - joe :) Go Stephane!!!

Not a fan of the beads

I knew that, but somehow they just don't work for me.

Yu-Na's show or Ice All Stars 2009 will be held on August 14 ~ 16.
It will be next week for Lambiel to skate in Korea.;)

I'm pretty sure he hasn't skated to korea, and probably never will ;)
Can we like not make fun of people who don't speak English as a first language? I know you didn't mean to be mean, but I just don't like it. And those prepositions have always been the most confusing part of the English language to me.

Ditto

What a respectable person you are! It's a commendable act.:agree:

I'm happy that he takes his chance, but I'm affraid , he is everything what the COP ignores.
The beauty of his skating is just cannot get the points in this system.
It means in my book, even if he will be out of the podium, he is THE best figure skater of this era.

Under CoP, Stephane won two World Championships, two Grand Prix Finals, and an Olympic silver medal. I don't think he has any problem with being "ignored" under CoP.
