Okay, so I am a big fan of Carolina's, and I am so sad she cant hold it together lately. So far this season is not going so well, but I was curious about her jumps. Can she still land them? Has anyone seen her in warm ups and in practice? Does she still hit the triple triples? Is it really her nerves getting to her in competition or is she really having skating problems? As a former skater, I know that I used to go through periods of loosing jumps because I mentally would freak myself out.

Welcome, Carolina fan. We hope you like it here. Post often, post long! :agree:

I believe that the practice reposts from Cup of China said that Carolina was landing everything in practice. She did a great short program. So I really don't know what to expect the rest of the way.

Hi there! Good to know I'm not alone in being a fan of Carolina. I saw a practice video online some weeks (months?) ago and if anything, her jumps looked more secure than last season, so I guess it must really be her nerves.

Am I seeing things or can you really see her nipple during the short program? Her Dress pulls down when she does her layback. I noticed this during the Paris competition and again at the Cup of China.

Yeah... Because that's the real issue here. So utterly important.

the dress seems too low cut and too big for her. Why don't they either fix the dress or change the underwear? Too laid-back.
I'm glad that she is having good practice though.

I am sorry, but I don't see how that matters in any way. For all I care she could skate naked, as long as she manages to get back on track.

I'm not a big fan of her skating, but I do want her to come back strong.
I wanna see an european lady on the podium of the wc or the olympics!
It's good to hear that she's doing fine in practice, then again, practice and competition are different...

If only double jumps are allowed in skating, Kostner might must have won multiple world championships...

Her skating skills are so impressive. Unfortunately, her jumps are always a hit and miss.

Although i am a big, big fan of Caro, I regret to have an impression that she is not particularly doing worse than before. She was more often than not inconsistent and this seems like one of those ups and downs. I was hoping to see a new Caro this season after going to the US, but this is just not happening yet. I'd love to see her nailing every jump in pracice runthrough and making a DVD like the artists sell their studio recordings.

Carolina's jumps are all there. Practice reports say that she is doing fine. Someone filmed her TEB warm-up, she hit every single jump and they looked totally easy and solid. Yet, 5 minutes later, she falls all over the place.

I love Carolina and I am impressed by her programs this season. She has really matured and turned into a lovely, gentle, soft and lyrical skater. I wish she could show her practice shape in competition, but she is just such a head case. If she could just turn off her nerves and skate, she'd be right up there with Yu Na.

I was wondering if perhaps Carolina had an injury of some sort, that she is fighting? I was surprised at Cup of China when Frank Carroll kept telling her how great she was, after a very disappointing free skate. The only way that would make sense to me would be if she was trying to overcome a handicap.

Hmmm, a handicap of lack of self-confidence maybe?
I've never read anything about an injury or heard about it in Italian news so I don't know. And she did look solid in TEB practice, I've seen it. I think she never quite managed to get her jumping confidence back after the breakdown at worlds last year. I can only imangine Mr Carroll was trying to make her believe in herself, no matter what.

Saw Carolina compete at a local competition today, she looked very solid and totally different from 2 weeks ago.

Her Warm-Up: 3Flip3Toe; 2Axel-3Toe; 3Toe; 3Sal; 3Loop
Her LP: 3Flip2Toe; 3Sal; 2Axel-2Toe; 3Toe; 3Loop hand down; 2Axel; 3Sal2Toe

Total LP Score 109,23. She won the competition by 30 points in front of a Japanese lady and Valentina Marchei.

She looked very good out there!
She said she is going to put the 3f-3t and the 2a-3t back into her program as the season progresses. I am convinced she will be back on track
