Plushenko will honour us with his presence in 2010!

Plush says he has got a cold and lost some training but nothing else, so all well

http://pskov.kp.ru/daily/24396/573567/

Different kind from the recent stuff, he talks about his goal to build a figure skating&ice hockey academy in st peters

and i saved the best for last. Ant?

Thanks for this info., seniorita!

Omg, his dream of building a skating school for poor/underprivileged/orphans/et al whom wouldn't have a chance of skating except for this school is also a dream of mine for the USA! Seriously, can you imagine the possibilities!?!

I know there are kids out there that have the natural talent (just like Tonya Harding did), but don't have the opportunity to show it. If it wasn't for Tonya's generous patrons & the support of the USFSA, as well as her own industrious ways to earn money back then (e.g. collecting used bottles for the refund $), the USA would have never had such a gorgeous jumper as her. As well, if her mother hadn't spent the little money she had to pay for her daughter to skate at the mall that one time, Tonya would have never been discovered. In fact, in my humble opinion, she's the best natural jumper of any woman from any country I've ever seen in my life. And that's not hyperbole.

The same goes for Russia nowadays. In the past, under the old Soviet System, the b-e-s-t athletes were spotted, cultivated, and made champions regardless if their families had money or not. Nowadays only those that have the money can afford to skate. At least this is my understanding.

My ultimate wish is for ALL children in ALL countries be allowed to skate, to see if they have the natural talent, and if so let it foster regardless if they come from money. Of course the child has to want it first & foremost. Anyhow, I hope one day this dream will become reality. Just the possibilities are endless, wow...

Back to Evgeni & his beautiful character, I admire this as much if not more so than his natural jumping ability, charisma, et al. I always have, which is why I consider him one of my all-time favorite athletes. He was one of the few that did not abandon his country to go skate elsewhere. No, he stayed with it, no matter the poor conditions at the ice rink, which I've read about in the past. But as Mishin said back then "a fat cat is a lazy cat". Lol, so true, Mishin is a wise man indeed.

p.s. Oksana Baiul supports TIKVA Children's Home, whom care for the homeless, abandoned, and abused Jewish children of Odessa, Ukraine. Here's a link to it: http://tikvaodessa.org/

I apologize - I'm not such a great master, like you or seniorita :rolleye:

On a much lighter note, this picture had me ROTFLMAO!!!!:rofl::rofl::rofl:

EDITED TO ADD: lol, us Evgeni Plushenko Fans should start a similar craze that Apolo Anton Ohno Fans did. That is, they wore his trademark "goatee" to his events. We should wear Zhenya's trademark "golden mullet" as well! ;)

Maybe because that (of course, not only for that)... he is so "unpopular" in the USA, unlike Yags? ;)

Some people will be here and dye their hair, in the name of that

These two are just soo.. yummy..:rofl::rofl:
If the podium, by some miracle, gets to be these two plus the original mullet, can we demand that they all wear this golden crown?:laugh:

Oh my god, Plushyta i think i actually screamed in the office looking at those!

Is it wrong that Brian still looks hot despite the mullet?

   Thanks for the manips, even though they crept me out a bit in between fits of laughter. You need a laugh after a long and terribly dull week.

Oh, they will have much to suffer to win "Gold mullet" ;) ... I do not worry, that Plushy will not be able to save his "scalp"!

P.S.S... and finally get back to our "favorite" thema...
http://newsblogs.chicagotribune.com...vering-figure-skating-at-the-2010-olympi.html

*Over dinner Sunday night in Lake Placid, five reporters who will be covering figure skating at the 2010 Olympics agreed to hazard predictions on the Winter Games medals.
I decided to come up with an aggregate of our picks by assigning 5 points for a prediction of gold, 3 for silver, 1 for bronze.
I know the whole thing is very unscientific, but the point here is simply to have some fun....

(Our panel was Juliet Macur and Jere Longman of the New York Times; Christine Brennan and Kelly Whiteside of USA Today; and me. FYI: Groups of us have done this in the past, and although the predictions have been lost to the mists of history, it should be noted Longman was the only one among a previous panel to pick Tara Lipinski as 1998 Olympic champion.)

In listing the 2010 predictions, I will give total points and votes by place. So, for example, in ice dance, Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto of the United States had 17 (2-2-1), which means 17 points on 2 firsts, 2 seconds and a third.
Without further ado, the envelope, please:....

MEN: Evgeny Plushenko, Russia, 16 (2-2-0); Evan Lysacek, U.S., 12 (1-2-1); Patrick Chan, Canada, 7 (1-0-2); Nobunari Oda, Japan, 6 (1-0-1); Brian Joubert, France, 4 (0-1-1).

P.S... Lysacek is next

Evan all tanned with gold mullet?:eek:Plushyta he will sue you and for a reason.
K i blame you:p
when Plush competes this week...?as a last ray of hope to get this thread back on track?
Meanwhile this ad is at all morning newspapers and I think that Medusa you should demand the copyright

plushyta, the picture is evil in a good way  (not sure if the Babou fans think the same)

And I definetively need to be careful for what I wish for...

Ah, analysis of analysis..Article about the new combo Plush is trying ,nothing new, what Plush had said in Rostel that this time his advantage is that he doesnt feel pressure for the result, missed competing blah blah.

Joubert says it is too risky, one thing to post a practice video, another to land it in competition, but he is happy that Plush pushes the sport. No drama here.

Too much fuss in my opinion- truly amazing that Plushy is trying this but- probably that was the intention of video first place.;)But since he stopped skating for 4 days last week due to flu it will be extremely stupid to even think about trying to land this. And I will kick his butt if he gets hurt.
But the doll to analyze the 3x-4t is hilarious, I thought I should post it:biggrin:
