GP Predictions Game Year 2 :)

Thanks for your hard work!

I've been comparing my guesses (I can never remember them all), to the actual results, and I'm now off to drown my sorrows in a cup of tea...

At least I did get the top three men... did anyone get them all? Please say somebody did?

Mrs P is in charge of men... they make my head spin. I also got the top 3 but I think that's it for me in terms of points on them. Honestly at this point I doubt anyone got it right, but you never know.

Nobody got all the men at Skate America... Honestly, I'm starting to view the men as The Impossible Quest. Anyone who gets them all should have a special award or something - a poem in their honour, or a serenade or something... ;)

Hmm, I didn't get more than 60 in any category this time. 60 for Men, Ladies, Dance, and 45 for Pairs.

I regret switching out Josh in 5th for Jeremy now :bang:

Pairs are up, no one got perfect (all but one person picked Duhamel and Radford to finish first) but rosacotton, GF2445, and Coriana led the pack at 55 points. The most common score was 45.

Just before I ask this question I'd like to make it clear I'm not complaining, I'm just asking as now I'm worried I don't understand the scoring system.

For the ladies I predicted:

1. Julia Lipnitskaya
2. Akiko Suzuki
3. Gracie Gold
4. Courtney Hicks
5. Kaetlyn Osmond
6. Christina Gao

Effectively with Kaetlyn's withdrawal being Christina Gao fifth. The way I understood the system that would be 60 points but in reality it's only 55. Could someone explain the system to me and how I miscalculated? Sorry if this is causing trouble...

You are right. There was a bit of confusion among the scorekeepers, which was my fault. The scores for ladies are updated and many people will be delighted to see they have 5 or even 10 points more than they thought they did :)

SkAm ladies will also be checked.

Again, my fault.

That's actually not true since it was my fault and tulosai is just being really nice ;)
Since we just predicted the top 5, I just took the top 5 from every competition into account and not how the skaters finished below 5th (yeah, my logic, sorry!). So if you have Hicks in 4th but she finished 6th, I didn't score points for that like the others did. That's why some of your numbers are lower. The numbers are corrected now, tulosai already did that!^^ (Thanks for that, tulosai!)

Everyone, sorry for the mistake and the resulting confusion. And thanks zamboni step (and Wilhelmina) for pointing it out! :)

I won Skate Canada???? :laugh::yay::yay::party2::rock:

AND THE LEAD!!!! That was completely unexpected....I'll celebrate now because next Grand Prix, it's all going to go downhill for me!

Yup :D

Our current overall leaders are:

1. GF2445 475
2. Blades of Passion 465
3. (TIE!) HR4, zamboni step 445
5. jchamp 440

Leaders in each discipline are:

Ladies: HR4 135
Men: GF2445 105
Pairs: (TIE!) Blades of Passion, GF2445, tulosai, zambonistep 120
Dance: (TIE!) jchamp, sequins galore 145

So for the record as your men's scorekeeper:

Waxel won the men's category at Skate Canada with a very nice score of 70 points, having predicted 4 out of 5 placements right and only having Jeremy Abbott off by one places.

Rounding out the top placements
1.) Waxel 70
2.) Aero 65 (also 4 out of 5 placements correct, but was off on Jeremy's placement by two places)
3.) pitterpatter, sky_fly20,GF2445,fairly4 and Blades of Passion 60 (tied)

Average score was 46.5 and the median score was 45, so the winners in this discipline were truly extraordinary, but most everyone did better this week.

Thanks, Mrs P!

I think the top three were slightly more predictable this week... but everybody else are just a bunch of wild cards as per usual...

Congrats to Waxel for getting so many right! Maybe Waxel, or someone else, will actually pin them all down next week. Here's hoping! :) Meanwhile, the Impossible Quest continues.... ;)

Grats with Skate Canada, GF2445!

But I don't think my points are correct? I should have 225 for Skate Canada, which would make my total 290.

Your score for men has been adjusted. Dunno what happened with that, sorry.

Everyone please check your scores and let me know or one of the other scorekeepers if there is a problem either on the board or through PM.

I am so happy! At least I got the local win)
thank you for congrats and the hard work you do!

And the Ladies are up too - congrats to HR4 who was the only one getting the top 5 right!

Overall, 55 was definitly the number of the competition ;)

Sorry for that, guys! It looks like I switched the cells, i.e. BOP got the score for the person below and vice versa. Anyway, thanks tulosai for correcting that for me.

And if anyone else have issues with the men, please feel free to PM me, thanks!

Woah! Didn't expect that.

haha my score for SC is very low, didn't have an alternate when Kaetlyn Osmond withdrew (had too much confidence in her lol). Oh wellz, better luck next time!

Third place?!! I actually moved up after such shoddy guessing?!!! And there I was watching my points go up in smoke after the ladies Short Program. Thank you to tulosai, Li'Kitsu, Mrs. P and pitterpatter for doing such an awesome job as scorekeepers!
