2014 Olympics Mens Free Skate

A bit confused by Kevin Reynolds score, but those twofooted landings really hurt him. And he doesn't have much artistry. Who is the clown in the zamboni break?

The ranks look fuller now.

Thrilled for Jeremy! Way to get a personal best on what will be his last competitive skate. Regardless of his placement, Jeremy should be proud of his effort here.

I wasn't surprised by Kevin's UR calls; I was surprised the commentators on TSN didn't mention anything about them before the scores came up.

I agree his presentation is a good deal better than it was, but he still has those UR and GOE problems that are holding him back. He did better than I expected here, though, after seeing him at Canadians.

And I like his hair, dammit. And Jason Brown's ponytail. :p

I feel bad for Amodio, he has everything to be a top skater. He should return to Morozov, he bring the best for him.

With at least 4 more to go (Chan, Hanyu, Machida, and Joubert)

Queen, Beatles, and Riverdance is not "warhorsey enough" to be considered that.

I was wondering how to score those. They're all borderline Warhorses. Maybe we should call them Warponies? LOL

I have my fingers crossed for Denis right now! I hope he does well!

I'm starting to get so nervous - the fight for the bronze begins!!!

HALFTIME! Any thoughts and predictions?

I feel unusually calm. Either of the Gold medal contenders deserve to win. They each have their own back stories and high expectations from their respective countries.

As for Bronze, I really have no clue who it will be given it's so wide open.

So far, the event hasn't been terribly well skated. Jeremy went more or less clean sans Quad but some of his landings were shaky. Verner had several misses although not terrible. Reynolds was a little tentative and received too many < calls.

The Tech panel seems reasonable here though, not overly strict but not being chumy chumy either.

I am more curious as to how the judges are handling the PCS. So far, they have been a little stricter than I expect. This panel is heavily Central/Eastern European, not sure how this will play out later. I think PCS will play a big role in determining top 5 today.
