2014 Olympics Ladies Short Program

Kim was perfect in practice during Worlds 2013 and look, she won. I am sure if she's clean, she'll be first.

Yes, that is in Canada where their home favorite had only four different triples. Maybe the same FS could score 141 points in Russia where their home favorite has the higher technical content and superior spins.

Kim is not mentally strong in close competitions. If she skated cleanly in the SP and couldn't win it, she would be upset. It makes the chance for the home favorite more favorable. The IOC has strong interests in making the game close and more "unpredictable" as we saw in mens bronze race.

No, your out-of-the-blue speculation is quite wrong. In fact, Michelle is the opposite of bizarre and narcissistic. That would be down-to-earth and kindhearted.

How do I know this? It is just one of the many things I happen to know.
Not narcissistic? When asked what their "favorite programs were," skaters like Stephane Lambiel listed other skaters' great programs while Michelle went "My favorite would probably be my own Fields of Gold".

Erg, i have a test tomorrow.

I will only able to catch the first 2 and half group.

I will stay til 3 groups because Yuna is coming late then go to class.

I hate this~!!!! erg. Why is school doing this to me :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

Nope. Still dress rehearsal. Yuna's dress rehearsal was broadcast just a few minutes ago. She did 3Lz+3T, 3F and 2A all clean, but she skipped her spins.

Given that 27 pages have already been posted before the event has even started, I have decided I want to root for someone NO ONE expects to win. Just because.

GO JENNA MCCORKELL!!!!!!!!!!! You're the Cher of Women's Figure Skating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good one! I hope someone with a name I can pronounce AND spell wins.....Go Elene Gedevanishvili! (OK, I cheated....)

I'm just saying how it comes off on tv. I just noticed several times I've seen her work as a commentator, the host always asks this question out of the blue and it always seems awkward. Having worked in broadcasting, I can pretty much tell this line of questioning was planned beforehand, which I do in fact find bizarre. It would be like asking Dick Button year after year after year if he still wishes he were skating at the Olympics...are you going to make a comeback next quad Dick? I mean, she's retired now and well into her 30s, I think it's time to give it a rest.

(by the way, the question was specifically if Michelle thought she could still be competitive with Yuna, Mao, Julia, Gracie, Carolina, etc. in Sochi)

I'm not an uber of any of the ladies, so what I want out of this competition is one massive Hunger Games. For every spot. I want every one to skate their best so that it's a high quality event, and may the best three take the medals!

...and sunshine, rainbows, kittens, and puppies. Yes, I'm a dreamer.

Yuna looks great. I feel she is even thinner than 2010, and Mao has visibly grown fuller. Keeping your body small is the strategy that cannot go wrong. Good luck Yuna.

Yuna's dress rehearsal: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EU4TsXN4BQ

She did only jumps and her final spin, but still great to watch those huge jumps. :)

Based on that footage, the game is officially over. Sorry guys. Let us lament for those days when our perverted hope and treacherous dream has gone with the prelapsarian wind that we desperately fought .... unless, yes, of course , Putin breaks another revolution and present himself a new hope of Russian figure skating and skates himself with his iron butt off.
