It's crazy to think that if Mao somehow hits her crazy FS, she could conceivably win the free skate and NOT medal. I would love to see her FS go clean, no matter what...

I am still reviewing the protocal and see Sotnikova got more GOE on her triple flip and double axel than Kim, ROTFL!!!!!! especialy the triple flip. This isnt even a sporting event anymore, just a comedy fare, and will remain so even if Sotnikova comes 4th.
Come to think of it, the men singles event seems to be fair because everyone fell and they have to pick the one who made the fewest mistakes. And the only Russian skater withdrawed, should we show our gratitude toward Plushenko for withdrawing? If he had not... His PCS might be over the top, not that I mind, cause he's Plushy. Lol![]()
Yeah like Julia's scores this week have been accurate, and they are what Sotnikova's should be based on. Lets give two Russians ridiculous scores, not just one. Sotnikova's triple flip is an ugly jump which always has a bad takeoff and landing edge. It isnt an overly high or dynamic jump either. Giving it 0 for GOE makes far more sense than giving it higher GOE than Kim's triple flip got (unless she got an edge call but she didnt). If you are actually saying that is right I know you have no objectivity on the subject of your beloved Sotnikova at all, LOL!
I had Sotnikova at a 0 for the jump and Kim at a +2.
Sotnikova's triple flip was not higher, it was lower, and had an ugly entrance and landing like she almost never does on the jumps. I had Sotnikova at a 0 for the jump and Kim at a +2.
Then again you are the same one so blind you think S&S deserved to win the SP over V&Tand said S&S have better skating skills than V&T.![]()
Every judge, including USA CAN and KOR gave Adelina's flip +2 (or +3). Clearly you are not seeing something even the judge from Yuna's country is seeing. Is the KOR judge part of the plan to take down Yuna as well?
the battle fro medal isnt over
Gracie and Julia can still pull up in the FS
Carolina and Adelina arent the most consistent skaters
After this competition, I think that the first thing Adelina should do is learning the quad toe-loop. Among ladies, I've never seen such a high triple toe. Ever.
Sotnikova's jumps are better than Kim's. Everyone knew that, a long time ago that outside of the Lutz Sotnikova has an edge there. Sotnikova has a Loop, though, which KIM does not have so she will have a 1 triple advantage in the FS, meaning she can fall on a Triple Lutz and still have a BV advantage over Kim.
Sotnikova's spins are in another dimension compared to Kim's. The Combo spin is WAY more stretched out. Her Layback is Level 4 and WAY better than Kim's. Her Flying Camel Spin leave's Kim's in the dust.
She did transitions out of her Triple Flip and Double Axel (the latter into a Twizzle Straignt into her L4 LBSp).
That first combination could have been a Quad-Triple with the amount of height she got on the first jump, with no rotational questions and immaculate landings. She probably got all +3's for that combination (and it would be deserved).
Kim telegraphs more compared to Sotnikova. Sotnikova goes straight into her 3F from steps, Kim takes a bathroom break going into that jump and Sotnikova's transitions into that jump are way more difficult than Kim's.
Kim got a level 3 Step Sequence, Sotnikova didn't IIRC.
Sotnikova performed that program like her life was on the line. I've never seen her sell that program as much as she did, and she added in more choreography (that made sense, hopefully she doesn't wave during the Spiral in her FS cause I'm at a lost for that) which really improved the program. She was amazing.
I do feel like we're finally getting to a point where the younger skaters like Gold, Lipnitskaya, Sotnikova, Edmunds, etc. aren't being penalized because they were "born too late" and it's actually kind of refreshing to see.
Kostner was beautiful, but I think Sotnikova outperformed everyone in the field and apart from Kostner and Sotnikova everyone performed like they were on their way to the Guillotine. Kim was solid, but you could tell she was quite nervous.
HOLY ****!!!
So i just watched Yuna SP and the Russians DIDN'T stand up for her.
I mean she deserves a standing ovation alone being an Olympic Gold Medalist from 2010 an landed all her jumps again ALONE.
Not only that, her SP here was MAGICAL.
*** is wrong with them?
Seems bitter
I wonder what Adelina's marks would have been if Julia hadn't fallen.
Small medals; remember? It's crazy to think that if Mao somehow hits her crazy FS, she could conceivably win the free skate and NOT medal. I would love to see her FS go clean, no matter what...
I love Plushy but well, i do think it's time to move on to the younger skaters. While I acknowledge the fact that this year men single event was not what we had expected, I have to say all the medalists deserved what they had worked so hard for despite all the falls. What a pity PChan gave the gold back (seriously sad, but... He did not try enough) but at least the competition was still fair at that point. Since Plushy pulled out, the judges had no reason to give him ridiculous high score. They must do like in some classical musical competitions e.g.

I agree, there is probably no corruption. But I do feel that Yuna scored a lot lower than she deserved. If you look at the quality of her jumps, (the distance going into the jump and the height, landing) she easily deserves up to 1.8 GOE. Now, I'm not saying Adelina didn't deserve her GOE's on her jumps, but if the judge scored with same standard, they should have given more GOE's to Yuna's jumps. And Step sequence - she did the same thing she did in Golden Spin of Zagreb and she got a level 4 there. Don't know why she only got level 3 and the lowest GOE on Step sequence out of top 3 (Sotnikova and Kostner) Adelina was the only one who got level 4 and 1.5 GOE... and for FCSp4, Adelina got 1.29 GOE whereas Yuna got 0.93. And what about PCS? Yuna's transition skills scored lower than Kostner's, and under 9, which I find hard to believe. Have you seen her perform? The way she pulls together the whole program is all about the transition. Her jumps and other elements just flow one after the other flawlessly. And what about other elements in PCS? Execution, Choreography, Interpretation timing - For all of these, Yuna got lower scores than Kostner and for Choreography she only got 8.89... But once again, have you seen Yuna perform??? Yuna is always known for perfect choreography totally in sync with the music. I'm just upset because Yuna has always been a consistent skater and over many years she has improved in her elements - her jumps, her spins, her step sequences and more than anything her ability to turn her performance into a work of art is dare I say the best out of all current female skaters. And she is at that legendary level. And to suddenly to be ripped off of what you deserve for the highest level you're at, it really is disappointing. Yuna truly deserved much better for her legendary performance at Olympics tonight... I really don't want her to be the scapegoat behind the Russian Glory.
Actually, three +1, six +2. And from what I've learned, we don't know who's whom. Just making sure.Every judge, including USA CAN and KOR gave Adelina's flip +2 (or +3). Clearly you are not seeing something even the judge from Yuna's country is seeing. Is the KOR judge part of the plan to take down Yuna as well?
I didn't know that, if the judges aren't experts, then why they are judges? I am confused here.Lastly judges arent experts. They are volunteers, they dont even get payed (except the massive bribe money). They usually dont even have a real skating background, but just pass the courses to become judges (and given the politics and state of skating, in some countries we can only imagine how legitimately they get through those stages). The experts who commentate (not employed by NBC that is), write, and ex skaters know 20 times more than the judges.
Yeah judges who anywhere but Russia have NEVER given your beloved Sotnikova a score anywhere near this. Your statement doesnt even make sense. So the judges are always right though? Good to know, I will follow your every post you complain about scoring every again and remind you that you have stated judges are always right less you are a hypocrite to ever question them again.
Of course you are one of those who will ALWAYS justify the score of a skater you lurve (S&S, Sotnikova) even when it is ridiculous and everyone but you is laughing at it, but will go on ad nauseum about a score that is somewhat wrong about a skater you dont like (Chan, Rochette in Vancouver, Pang & Tong when they beat S&S at the 2010 Worlds in the LP, Wagner and Gold).
