Mao gets her third world title in Japan, Yulia gets a world medal in her first season as a senior, Kostner finishes her career with a world medal (however undeserved, it's nice for her). Happy endings to the season all around.

USA, Russia, Japan get three spots. It'll be interesting to see what happens next year with the Japanese ladies, as Akiko is retiring, and Mao / Kanako may be (but it's not confirmed?).

The way her fans boost her, you would think she was a 10x world medalist. And then you look of her record and see she's never won anything in seniors at the international level. All hype and no results. She would have won the bronze with a cleanish skate and she blew it, as usual. Her 2A has become Julia-level awful and it bit her twice in the free skate.

I think Mao should retire. She skated two great programs and won a World title in her home country. That's a great way to go out.
