Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

But then what would it happen with poor Takahiko Kozuka?

I kid, if I have my say I would like to be Kanako, they would look just so cute together.

And also just for reference this is Princess Kako, I think she is cute http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-nbUil3c1qAo/UfJC4dHwLjI/AAAAAAAABFw/l1V5P7lZDoM/s1600/01.jpg

Yes, she's cute, still... No offense but Kanako or any other lady skater please!!!! I mean, I have an uncomfortable feeling when it comes to royalty. It's not that they are bad. It's just there are too many rigid responsibilities and formality you would have to follow. I mean having a normal relationship without all of those burdens would be better, if it were me ;). As if the kid haven't had enough pressure lately.

But anyways, I think all he could think of these days are the quads, mostly the 4 loop . He might even dream about the 4 axel. So, all the girls, regardless of who they are, should wait until he's retires. I think that would be much better for all the sides.

PS: Yes, Mao please!!!

Then, he got tired of waitin for Mao. Got for him. Then I Yuzu can date Mao.

haha Well if Taka can't even wait for Mao, then he doesn't deserve her, well actually he doesn't deserve her anyway haha, I like the other Japanese guys more

Both 2014 World Champions and GPF Champions, best female and male 3A jumpers in the world, and both record holder of the SP, sounds kind of destined

Whoah, is this thread moving towards RPF territory with all this imaginary girlfriend talk?! I though we agreed it's creepy a couple of pages ago...

I'm also confused. Just a few pages ago, wasn't there a heated discussion on how creepy it is to ship Yuzuru with other people?? I think it's kind of weird how the thread proceeded to do just that and thought it was okay with female skaters...

Can we all just agree that Pooh is his one true love, and leave it at that?

Not the same, fanfic about sexual content with girls and boys to just joke around about him dating a Princess/ Mao /Kanako. We know is not real, and we are moving on.

【News】How B. Orser will guide Yuzu

Before Worlds Championship, Asahi News interviewed Brian Orser. He mentioned the reasons why Asian skaters are outcome in figure skating these years.

"Asian skaters are low center of gravity; the small pelvis resulted in ease of spins. Besides, they are strongly disciplined and easily control the weights." Yuzu is an example.

"Once we decide the routine training schedule, he(Yuzu) always takes steps. If he is scheduled on ice at twelve o’clock, you will see him finished warm-up and get on ice ready. He is neither interfered by surroundings, nor takes time to play with others. Focusing on body control is the first priority himself. "

The upcoming training points of Yuzu will be skating skill, connections of movement and the proper direction of choreographer.

Even the rules of scoring will be changed this June; Orser thinks the skating skill is the only basic foundation that won’t be influenced. The better you skate, the higher scores you get to win.

Speaking of choreographer, Orser thinks Yuzu is still young and adaptive. Before finding out the most proper program just like the James Bond of Yuna Kim, there should be tried in various ways.

^ Thanks!

Isn't it a bit unfair to the skaters that the rule changes won't be published until JUNE, especially if there are big changes coming that might affect eg. the jump layout? The "ss is the only basic foundation that won't be influenced" part makes me think Borser has some inside info and he does expect some major changes for the next season. (I might be reading too much into it, though...)

Thanks echotpe for the translation of what is for me a revealing interview as to what we can expect from Yuzuru's programs this coming season. As I suspect, the emphasis will be more on developing his artistry based from the laundry list of "training points" and also from what Yuzuru has said in recent interviews. Since Brian Orser correctly acknowledges that Yuzuru is "young and adaptive," we may see a new choreographic direction for Yuzuru this season. There could be no better time for this as the quad leading up to the next Olympics is just beginning and also in view of the new rules of scoring Brian Orser mentioned. As an aside, I've read in the Jason Brown thread that Jason will have a "dramatic" LP for this coming season, a departure from his light and joyous "Riverdance." Seeing two of the most exciting skaters on the scene with programs different from what we have been accustomed from them will be a real treat for us skating fans.

Speaking of the new rules of scoring, I wonder if the same will be introduced in light of what happened in Sochi. I recall that there were also new rules after the Vancouver Olympics. Re Nimi's concern, does anyone know if the ISU has consulted beforehand with the stakeholders regarding the new rules or did it merely rely on its "wisdom"?

I just hope they will not get "fantastic" idea of downgrading a bv for quad jumps, as few ppl are crying of too many quads .... :slink: I saw somewhere even opinion of limiting number of quad jumps in LP to 2.... lol I find it a bit funny because someone ho is able to do 3 quads have abilities to do that and trained hard to achieve that
