Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

Thank you Yuzusan for translations , great job

My heart is still bleeding thinking that he had not his dream LP at Olympics.. Propably he also still can't sleep at nights when he is getting back to that moment in mind

Thank you for translation Yuzusan, it really remind me of the amazing moment in 2012, everything that happen was so special, and really if not because of that fall then a 3A-3T afterward it might not be as memorable as it is. I still remember how nervous I was before he skate and just wished that he would just make it through and podium is definitely not in my concern, Yuzuru though, gave one of the most unforgettable performance and I was in tear.

look on the bright side
- Olympics: perfect SP but mistakes in FS

I'd say it evens out

Thanks for the translation Yuzusan

I wish he can have a clean competition next season, has he ever had a clean one since JW?

I never thank that he would have missed the quad toe on his short program during WC. And I never thank that he would have missed the triple Axel on his FS at Sochi. I was bothered. But at least, for the last performance of the season (the FS at WC), he did a magic performance. The 4S was just .... and it made his performance more intense, fighting against the pain, giving all what he can to pursue his fate. What a shame that French TV didn't broadcast the FS and SP during the WC. They just showed some of the lady's FS. But the Hanyu's EX on the gala has been broadcasted with our favourite french commentators.

I wish he can have a clean competition next season, has he ever had a clean one since JW?
No, on the same time, he always put difficulties harder than the previous step. So this is difficult to be foot perfect all the time. Maybe thanks to his new courses at the university, he will be able to control his power and achieve a perfect season ! I'm waiting this !

A part of that, no problem with the video's download ? It works ? How is the connexion in accordance with your location ?

If someone can translate what Hanyu and the Prime minister said at the beginning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NzhuqbvMp6M

^Thanks so much Yuzusan! I have downloaded (and watched) the SP file and am still downloading the LP (seems to be a big file). Internet connection is pretty good here in Korea.

BTW, over at the fanfest thread of Yuzuru's idol, Evgeni Plushenko, it was posted that the latter's agent has announced that Plushenko plans to return to competition this coming season and will start training in June. I don't have to guess how Yuzuru feels at possibly facing his idol this time in an individual competition. I'm sure Yuzuru will be thrilled and at the same time will not back down an inch.

So excited.....just purchased full pass tickets to Skate Canada!!! Got center ice seats row 4!!! I sure hope Yuzuru will choose Skate Canada, if they give him the choice....i heard somewhere that based on his ranking, he gets to choose instead of being assigned by the federation??? Does anyone know if this is true??

^Good for you! :) Re your query, FTnoona said this in Post#4992: "If I remember correctly, Hanyu gets to choose his assignments bc he is one of the #1 and #2 seed. Your best shot would be team Borser whispering in his ear to choose something in NA."

@Yuzusan: Just finished downloading Yuzuru's Sochi LP with French commentary video (took an hour more or less) and just read your translation at the Yuzuru Media Links thread. Wow, Annick certainly didn't mince words ("worst performance"), and Nelson thought he would get a silver medal at best. Understandable really as they knew Yuzuru is capable of much much more. Would you know what they said when it turned out he won the gold medal? Thanks again for all your hard work.

@SuzyQ, thanks for the link. Like Hanmgse, the other link also didn't work for me (a refrain for me this week, sadly).

Yeah. When he hell 4T in SP at the Worlds 2014, fans who knew what had happened at the worlds 2012 & 2013 even more expected something miraculous would happen in LP

And, he did not betray our expectations !!

He said in the interview that "adversity" is the energy to fire him.

What a fighter he is

Lucky you! :yay: I think he does choose, I'm not sure though
Oh, I'm sorry

That was a video that a fan has mixed Yuzuru's performance of "Hana ni nare" at the Nagoya Festival 2013 and Japanese version of "Let It Go". They are miraculously matched.

I hope you can enjoy the following ones.

Yuzuru's performance without commentary.

That worked now, thank you ^^. I admit I'm not a fan of let it go but I really liked this

I know! after the SP I had the feeling that he was going to nail his FS, I wonder if this will happen again next year, I hope not and he nails both programs ^^

he better not develop the equivalent to the Canadian curse... you know, like 'if I mess up my SP I'll deliver a great FS and if I nail my SP then I'll botch the FS"... no :disapp: do not want. proximity is no excuse.
(of all the things they could name after him, I hope it won't be that :sarcasm::biggrin::slink:)

^That video with the children! I think he relates to children so well and they to him because there is a bit of Peter Pan in him (and I hope there always will be).

Thanks Pamina! And may I say for your fellow Yuzuru fans in this thread, I hope it takes a very, very long time before you find the cure to your mysterious ailment, it at all? ;)

That's crazy! The fact that Plushenko is coming back to compete and that Yuzu is going to probably face him is insane! Wow, I wonder what'll happen next season when he faces his idol from childhood. Will good come out of it?

(someday they will find a cure for whatever I got, but right now I can't help it... apologies)

I'm afraid there is no cure

Oh yes ITA, That's the last I want.

Lmao, if it happens again in the next WC (his amazing LP-after bad SP routine) shall we name it the "Hanyu-method"? Or maybe "winning WC's the Hanyu-way"

I'm joking ;)
hopefully
