Yuzuru Hanyu: 2013-14 Season

In this context: if a guy "confesses" to a girl, he is declaring his love for her...

Did it really happen? I doubt it...

... was there maybe a balcony involved in said confession scene?

Oh that kind of confession! Sorry for being slow on the uptake but just two weeks out of Holy Week, my mind was on confession of sins. Silly me :o:

PS. @littlexflower: Thanks for filling me on the details. I think it's great for Yuzuru to be happy both on and off the ice. As I have posted before, we have to expect some day some lucky girl will capture all the passion we have noted in him. :)

My God this fan fest is FUN!! First we talk about his height, his costume, his disinterest in food, now his gossip girlfriend or used-to-be girlfriend.
I can't hope for summer to end or else next season we have already counted the number of Winnie the Pooh he has!!!

Anyways, in the clips of the parade, the girl in mention (Marika?) told him "your English is better", so I guess it must have been quite a long time they haven't met or hang out.:p The interaction is cute, though. But frankly... I have a feeling he still looks like a kid talking to an older sister.

With that hectic schedule of this Olympic season (and it doesn't seem to be less busy in the next and next month) I doubt that the kid had time for something like dating. His thoughts are mostly about 4t and 4S I am afraid (and now we have to add 4 loop).

Sorry for trying to be Sherlock Holmes. I am a fan of Conan Doyle.

The rumour didn't sprung up this year, but last year (January 2013). It's pretty baseless and the user herself deleted it when she realised no one believed her. I think she'd mentioned something like having been told by a friend of classmate of hers or something like that, when Marika doesn't even go to school in Canada. Someone probably saw the interview Marika did with Pj a couple of months earlier, where she talked about training with him in Sendai and being friends, and took advantage of it.
This wasn't the only rumour which came up on tumblr, there were even more ridiculous ones... all vanished. People like having a moment of celebrity, apparently.

I would advise people not to talk about it anymore, Marika deserves to receive attention for how she skates and not this kind of thing.

Agree with the "your English is better" analysis. I don't think he would have been that at ease with his crush in public anyway, especially admitting to her that he was scared by the crowd...

I agree that he would keep his private life as much private as possible, like all other Japanese skaters have done with theirs. Maybe 10 years later he will announce his wedding and before that point we fans still haven't any idea who his partner is.

Anyways, I found this fanart on tumblr.

Never thought R&J2 costume can look pretty nice in dress form. It may be a good suggestion for girls to wear in compertitions (notice how the design looks so much better after getting rid of the fetus).

Well, I've always thought that R&J2 costume will look much better if the ladies are wearing it. :) I just love how the colour fades into a darker colour. For Yuzuru, the R&J1 costume fits him more.

Yes, I certainly hope others (read the media) will afford Yuzuru privacy as to his love life. And as for how much art (his skating) reflects his life experiences, I guess we'll find out when Blue Flame has a sequel.

@echotpe, I believe the Medal with Purple Ribbon is awarded to people who have made special contributions to the academic world, the arts and sports. You copied down the 'Medal with Blue Ribbon' description from wiki :)

it's getting confusing

so, this is what 'my' Wikipedia says

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medals_of_Honor_(Japan)

Yellow ribbon
First awarded in 1887 (later abolished); revived in 1955. Awarded to individuals who, through their diligence and perseverance while engaging in their professional activities, became public role models.

Purple ribbon
First awarded in 1955. Awarded to individuals who have contributed to academic and artistic developments, improvements and accomplishments.

Blue ribbon
First awarded in 1882. Awarded to individuals who have made significant achievements in the areas of public welfare or public service

I guess you both got accidentally into the wrong column ;) anyways: thank you for the info echotpe!
