Yulia Lipnitskaya

Appreciate your profound conribution to the discussion.

Anyway. I think you're reading too much in that comment. My boyfriend would love to live in France, although he is italian and love his country.
I don't think it's a matter of nationalism when it comes to this.
People love and live in their countries but they also love and would like to live in other countries too.

Agreed on everything you wrote.
She's just so honest and politically incorrect, that we love reading her interviews and point out the most interesting parts, don't we? So I did.
Of course, political correctness stroke back immediately with mysterious "context", "loving" Russia, Barcelona, Kaliningrad, Samara and whatever city there exists in the northern hemisphere...
Dunno, what all of this has to do with Julia finding living in Japan more appealing than living in Russia, but hey, at least our thread is swelling! :agree:

Why you are trying to make something out of a simple figure of speech I don't know.

So now if Yulia says anything nice about another country she hates Russia. :rolleye:

I agree. This entire conversation far the last two pages has been complete nonsense.
People, leave the girl alone!

She did say that she would like to live in Japan. But also there is a next question: "How often do you think about living in another country?" And Yulia's answer: "Of course, in Russia everything is more habitual. And there is a question: what I should do there (meaning abroad)? In my opinion, it is better going abroad for holidays (not for living)."

So I don't see any problem. She just likes Japan.

Does this help?

You should still buy it though :)

Thanks, the translation is sort of awkward. And it lacks the crucial moment when she said that she sees no point to live abroad - just to travel there. So, the argument about her wish to leave Russia started because the translation was incomplete.

There was another elegant answer lost in translation: Elle: "The sport career is not long. Have you started to think which profession could be interesting to you?" Yulia: "So far I have sport. I have not started to think yet, because when I start to think about it I will start to have problems in sport." It was about her dedication.

Elegant and intelligent. :)

 my girl is such a wonder! Oh!

I wonder if this is her house?

I was thinking the same. I'm happy for her. :)

And I love the "cat that mews weird". What a pair! I hope to see this "cat" on the ice, too. Can they bring little animal to the rink? So her pet can cheer for her?

I think that a puppy not a cat.
