Excuse me, Birlajs -- when is the Cup of China? Thanks!
hwellHello, everyone! I'm a newbie. Thanks a lot for all videos and photos, I absolutely adore Tatiana and Maxim!
Nessie, thank you for telling us about their training, but I am wondering, if Maxim has got an injury, otherwise why Tanya has been training on her own? Sorry for my bad English( I am Russian)
Nessie- I guess you're right.... it's pretty awkward to film and take pictures of them while all they want to do is train and have a good time. It's also quite rude I guess.hwell
If I had the opportunity to simply take the train (one can dream!) and go see them i'd probably bring a few friends with me...this way it's not strange and you feel less like a stalker and more like a very dedicated fan.. haha) Maxim's birthday (October 7th) is a few days before Skate America. maybe they'll train there still and you'll be able to organize a surprise for him..? i bet they both will be pleasently surprised.
Also, I really do think that American/Canadian fans should arrange a fan-meeting with them.. the japanease fan meeting are nice but someti,es i get the feeling like V/T aren't really comfortable being there (maybe it's just me).. Tessa & Scott do a lot of those in Russia and it really feels like an outgoing conversation rather than a formal meeting with a translator (like in Japan for example)
I don't think Max has an injury -- I saw no evidence of any problems whatsoever. Also, I didn't stay the full two hours of their session (I was really freezing -- the rink was quite cold. I had a jacket but should have brought more) and it is very likely that Max and Tanya skated together after he finished working with the young pair. A training session was also scheduled for that afternoon, so they knew they had that 2 hours coming up to do some work.
Oh, what I neglected to mention about the Japanese fan-meeting is that the translation was from Japanese to English, NOT Japanese to Russian! Thank heavens. So it was great to hear Tatiana and Max speaking English which we don't often get.

you mean it was great to hear Max speaking English.. Not that I think Tanya doens't know English, but it's really funny to see how under pressure she's looking at Max to complete her sentence.. It used to happen to me too when I was younger. But to be honest she speaks Russian and also ukrainian quite well I heard so a 3rd language is quite an achievmet!
I'd also like ro praise Maxim's ability to express himself so well with such a limited vocabulary.
Note: how I wish I knew Russian.
I think her English is really cute! I love when they speak English, because then I can finally understand what they're saying!
sometimes she speaks it better than Max,becuase she tends to really think about grammer and what she's saying. Max hardly pays attention to grammer as long as he can be understood by other ppl.. Lool his english may be more fluent, but it's not always correct. Random question but is Tatiana married? Wasn't she going out with Stanislav Morozov?
Nessie, you are my hero! I live in Long Island and it's killing me that they are relatively so close but with my kids' crazy schedules and my work demands I can't get to NJ! I thought about calling NJ rinks to ask about whether their training sessions were open to the public but was afraid they'd think I was a stalker or competitive spy, lol! If I did manage to get there I think/hope I would be brave enough to say hello, tell them I'm a huge fan, ask for a quick autograph/photo then ask if it would be ok to watch them practice for a bit ... and promise to not disturb them : ). Nessie - your detailed account of your visit was the next best thing. Thank you SO much for posting! I wonder how much longer they'll be there? I may try calling after all if I can somehow get there!
