Tatiana Volosozhar & Maxim Trankov

Thank you, Nessie, for information! I miss Tanya and Max so much! Did not Max skate himself? I mean jumps, etc.

Thanks Nessie for the training report! I'm really surprised it's open to the public. I wish I lived closer to NJ!

So excited they are going to the Cup of China and Skate America! I'm going to go to Skate America. I was planning on going anyway but this just makes it so much better!

KinoriH - I did take some pictures with my phone but they're not very great. The skaters move so fast it's hard to catch them. Too, I didn't want to take alot of pictures or they might think I was up to no good! And when Max was standing right in front of me some feet away, I just couldn't take his picture... It seemed rude. But the Olympics is so far off, I don't think they are worried a bit about people watching them practice. The season before the next Olympics will be when they might worry. The programs are mostly complete, right? And they "test" them at various competitions and that's when their competitors can see what they are up against.

Nessie- I guess you're right.... it's pretty awkward to film and take pictures of them while all they want to do is train and have a good time. It's also quite rude I guess. :ohwell

If I had the opportunity to simply take the train (one can dream!) and go see them i'd probably bring a few friends with me...this way it's not strange and you feel less like a stalker and more like a very dedicated fan.. haha :)) Maxim's birthday (October 7th) is a few days before Skate America. maybe they'll train there still and you'll be able to organize a surprise for him..? i bet they both will be pleasently surprised.

Also, I really do think that American/Canadian fans should arrange a fan-meeting with them.. the japanease fan meeting are nice but someti,es i get the feeling like V/T aren't really comfortable being there (maybe it's just me).. Tessa & Scott do a lot of those in Russia and it really feels like an outgoing conversation rather than a formal meeting with a translator (like in Japan for example)

Hello, everyone! I'm a newbie. Thanks a lot for all videos and photos, I absolutely adore Tatiana and Maxim!
Nessie, thank you for telling us about their training, but I am wondering, if Maxim has got an injury, otherwise why Tanya has been training on her own? Sorry for my bad English( I am Russian)

I don't think Max has an injury -- I saw no evidence of any problems whatsoever. Also, I didn't stay the full two hours of their session (I was really freezing -- the rink was quite cold. I had a jacket but should have brought more) and it is very likely that Max and Tanya skated together after he finished working with the young pair. A training session was also scheduled for that afternoon, so they knew they had that 2 hours coming up to do some work.

I watched one of the fan fests with Tanya and Max in Japan on You Tube -- I bet most of you have seen it. I thought T and M were extremely polite and kind and behaved brilliantly. It took so long sometimes for the translator to first translate the question from a Japanese fan, then in reverse, translate their answer back to the fan -- and T and M sat quietly while all this went on. It must have been extremely tiring for them. It was tiring enough just to watch! I think it was more than 45 minutes... Since they are now full-fledged celebrities and world-famous, I have no doubt they understand their position, but sometimes it must be a chore.

A fan-meeting in Chicago would be a good idea but I am not able attend...

Oh, what I neglected to mention about the Japanese fan-meeting is that the translation was from Japanese to English, NOT Japanese to Russian! Thank heavens. So it was great to hear Tatiana and Max speaking English which we don't often get.

Thank you for your reply, Nessie. I hope, Maxim is OK, as he has mentioned of going to see his favourite doctor in NJ, also he has posed s photo from hospital in Moscow on his instagram, that's why I thought, he might have an injury.

you mean it was great to hear Max speaking English.. Not that I think Tanya doens't know English, but it's really funny to see how under pressure she's looking at Max to complete her sentence.. It used to happen to me too when I was younger. But to be honest she speaks Russian and also ukrainian quite well I heard so a 3rd language is quite an achievmet! ;)

I'd also like ro praise Maxim's ability to express himself so well with such a limited vocabulary.
Note: how I wish I knew Russian.

I think her English is really cute! I love when they speak English, because then I can finally understand what they're saying!

"cute" is the perfect word for that! ;) sometimes she speaks it better than Max,becuase she tends to really think about grammer and what she's saying. Max hardly pays attention to grammer as long as he can be understood by other ppl.. Lool his english may be more fluent, but it's not always correct. :)

Whoa, did I say something about Max and Tanya NOT training? Well, maybe not on the ice but on a day when most people relax and do nothing, if you visit Max's Instagram post today, you see he and Tatiana had a dance class this morning. There's little question that choreography and ideas are worked out and experimenting is done in a studio, way way way before one gets near the ice! And it looks like the work has begun. Hope they found someone with unique ideas so V and T can break new ground and come up with an innovative and compelling short program. From what little we can observe, it seems that Nina Moser and her aides certainly have connections here in New York and are not wasting any time calling on them.

I see from Tanya's Instagram that Max and Feodor and she visited Chelsea Piers yesterday -- surely to check out SKY RINK -- a magnificent rink, with huge windows, full of light. Chelsea Piers has all sorts of sports complexes there but their fees are NOT cheap -- I assume because of the convenient location and being right on the Hudson River. It would certainly be nicer if the Russians could train there instead of New Jersey, so they don't have to keep going back and forth between Manhattan and the suburbs. I would have hoped that SKY RINK would offer them a special rate -- just to have the honor of their presence.

Max and Tanya are going to so many familiar places around the city that I'm beginning to think I might just bump into them by accident.

Nessie, you are my hero! I live in Long Island and it's killing me that they are relatively so close but with my kids' crazy schedules and my work demands I can't get to NJ! I thought about calling NJ rinks to ask about whether their training sessions were open to the public but was afraid they'd think I was a stalker or competitive spy, lol! If I did manage to get there I think/hope I would be brave enough to say hello, tell them I'm a huge fan, ask for a quick autograph/photo then ask if it would be ok to watch them practice for a bit ... and promise to not disturb them : ). Nessie - your detailed account of your visit was the next best thing. Thank you SO much for posting! I wonder how much longer they'll be there? I may try calling after all if I can somehow get there!

I believe their last day is Monday, July 7th and their ice time is 6 to 8 p.m. I will call the rink and see if their training schedule has been extended one day, which the rink director had said was a possibility. I'll be back....

Any idea how a fan meeting would be set up? I think the ones in Japan are a formal meeting organized by the event and maybe the coaches or management of V/T (?) thought I'm not sure who that person would be.
