Yulia Lipnitskaya

I'm staying away from that thread, and I love Polina by the way.

All threads which starts with the idea to comment on the positive things of their favorite skater but ends up bashing another one, in order to make their case, are absolutely not worth it. It's a lost "battle".

We have a name for it, in Italy, we call it rosiconi.
This is what a rosicone does: http://nonciclopedia.wikia.com/wiki/File:Rosika.jpg

In deed. Lol the image is so

And if they don't like it, the skaters will have to change their entire programs. This happened to B/S ice dancers, Tat told Zhulin to change their programs quite a few times. :slink: But I think Eteri also have some says in the Fed, given how well her students have been doing, so I guess Tat will not say negative about Yulia. :)

Wow. I find this to be pretty disturbing! Does "not liking it" mean that there's a lack of technical difficulty or maybe too much of it, or that it's inappropriate?
Or does it actually mean that, if it simply doesn't appeal to her personal taste, they seriously have to change their entire program?! I'd go freaking crazy if they told me to throw away my whole work and do it all over again simply cause "they don't like it" :bang:

Oh and I also always thought that Adelina's coach and Tarasova were like best friends forever(:D) and that they're also on good terms with Elena's coach, since they share a rink
and that Eterie was kind of an outsider among the Russian coaches:think: I read that on several occasions. .. but so it's not true?

Who knows about Tat's reason. Maybe she were right, but maybe she were wrong. Remember her pakage for Adelina for the last 2 seasons? I have to say ... But for sure she has lot of power over many Russian's skaters. And she has some words even with the placement at National, too. But I think Eteri has nothing to worry about, since her youngsters are doing quite well. And Yulia has written her name on the international map, so Russian Fed will surely consider her very carefully, it's not like one or two words from Tat would change anything for Yulia at this point.
I feel bad for B/S, though. They had to change their programs 3-4 times last season.

It's "wrong" in the sense she shouldn't have gone there at that moment.

My cute Lipi.
Alba and her calcio references...

I just ignore thm. Someone honestly tried to criticize her for finishing 4th in Russian SR nationals when she was like 12. Thats when I truly realized its not worth responding to.
I "like" the one saying all Yulia's success rely on one look and red dress. :sarcasm:
I couldn't even reply to that not being banned, in real life at least I could pour coke on them or sth...;)

Moment just after Yulia's Olympic individual FS.
Yulia sitting there sad and resignated, watching replays on the screen and waiting for the scores, moment of silent disappointment in the stadium and then people, slowly, one after another start to open their hearts...
After 5 seconds whole place is rumbling in perfect single roar: "YU-LIA, YU-LIA!!!".

Tarasova comments on tv: "Zal vlyubilsya... y nye tolko zal." (Hall fell in love... and not just the hall.") :)

It can be for various reasons. Choreography, music choice, it depends.

Yes they are. Tarasova worked with Adelina and Maxim.

She is in good terms with Eteri as well. If I'm not mistaken she took Sergei Voronov because Tatiana asked her.

Yes I know, but some thought that was the French flag.

No really, we use that term for everything when we want to say "this thing it's eating you", "It's killing you", to die of envy etc.
It express a specific feeling of jealousy. ;)

No, I meant that "Lipi" is just like Lippi (Marcello).;)

This was posted in an other forum, I'm sure some of you have read.
That's what I meant by Eteri being kind of an outsider in the Russian skating world(and still kinda is)...
I always had the impression that Adelina is the one who is supposed to be the Russian star and I knew that she got a looot of support from the federation over the seasons, more than other skaters do or did (nothing against Adelina!!) and that Yulia didn't, at least not like that and this kinda confirms it...
all the more respect to her.
But why are things so unequal between skating clubs and skaters -.- ?

I have a friend who coaches, is from Russia and was on their national team a long time ago. Anyway....she says Yulia is kind of an unexpected child who rose up without the help of the Fed and almost inspite of it. Just another reason IMO to love the story that is Yulia Lipnitskaya.
