Russian Test Skates 2014

Um, when exactly would he be reading these comments esp in English. No one is blaming the kid for his shirt and there isn't anything wrong with saying it looks like paint thrown all over it, heck that is tie-dye. No one is calling the kid names, no offense but you are making something bigger than it is.

I would love to see how he skates though, Russia needs some good future male skaters.

Thank you!!
The girl with the red-white jacket and her partner totally look like young Elena and Nikita don't you think :D ?

Fedorova and Miroshkin? Hmm I don't think they look similar... but they do have good chemistry at these photos

Please stop! This thread is intended to discuss the test skates. Evgenia had two great skates. The fact is Sotskova just released an interview where she said SHE was the one having growth issues via catch foot positions and maybe jumps due to a several cm spurt since JGPF which appear to have affected her jumps at the test skates. Hopefully it's due to her groin strain more than anything else and she can bounce back but as far as test skates go it would seem Evgenia is leading the way.

Before we start saying Evgenia is leading the way (I know you meant test skate-wise, but I feel this should be said), we should remember that last season Evgenia was rock solid for the Test Skates and her two JGP events and Serafima fell something ridiculous like four times at the Test Skates and three times at both her JGP events and then for every other competition she solidly beat Evgenia. Juniors is a temperamental category for those who aren't Radionova, Julia or Adelina. Look at Risa Shoji or Angela Wang. Both did great on the JGP, making it to the final in 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 respectively but Risa was 20th at Junior Worlds that same year and Angela didn't even make it.

Oh dear! Is it really worth it arguing which of them is better? All four of them are without doubt very talented; all of them have the potential to make it. whether they actually will depends on a lot of things, including a healthy dose of luck. There are some factors that may be out of their control, such as health, injuries, growth spurs, puberty etc. So let's enjoy their skating for now and see how they will stack against each other. What will be will be, but we can still enjoy them at present.

Just a reminder - Ovcharova, Shelepen...very likely as talented as those four, and possibly also as hardworking. Both of them struggled with injury and did not managed to regain their original level of skating.

I have a feeling this year Juniors is going to be a mess in terms of results. Especially compared to other years where someone dominated...although a Russian sweep of podiums does sound quite likely.

Agreed. I miss Shelepen.

Also Rosa Sheveleva, she is about half year elder than Sotnikova and Tuktamysheva. Retired because of injury. Now, in age 18, she is very nice mother with very nice baby.

They were not so taletned than Sotnikova and Tuktamysheva.

And Lipnitskaia, Radionova, Sotskova, Proklova, Sakhanovich being 13 years old skated better than Sotnikova and Tuktamysheva when they were 13, IMHO.

Beautiful couple.

@All: Evgenia is going to skate at GPF Junior in Courchevel this week.
So, maybe that's why she is ahead of others in her preparation?

I think so. And next week Sima will go to GP Junior Ljubljana, then Evgenia will go to Ostrava VS Karen Chen. So I'm very glad to see Evgenia is ready to fight!
Beautiful couple.

Here's an interview about Junior Test Skates
http://fsrussia.ru/intervyu/168-galina-golubkova-yuniory-otkryvayut-sezon.html

It's head coach of Russian junior team Galina Golubkova. She's describing the geography of junior Gran-Prix events and adds some comments on how everyone skated in Novogorsk.

About girls' test skates:

Our grils' programs have left a good impression. It conserns Serafima Sakhanovich, Zhenya Medvedeva, Masha Sotskova. Unfortunately after the injury Sasha Proklova wasn't able to show her programs to the fullest. But what she showed us in Novogorsk gives hope that she will be ready for the last 2 Gran-Prix events. I'd like to remind you that Sasha participated in the Gran-Prix Final last season. She took part in Russian Nationals and Russian Junior Nationals. So she has experience. And motivation too! Unfortunately Nastya Kolomiets didn't take part in the skates because of the back injury.

The specialists looked through all the skaters and everyone was given individual recommendations, remarks on what should be changed (in the programs) or fulfilled. All the programs were video-taped and on that very day they were e-mailed to their coaches with detailed commentary. So the test skates in the beginning of the season were useful for everyone.

So happy to read that they're actually planning to give JGP events to Proklova!!

Thaanks for the information, It is nice that the girls left a good impression, I wonder how the boys did.

Talking in general about the boys' results I would like to mention Daniel Bernadiner, Vladimir Samoilov, who works with Inna Goncharenko. Naturally, Alexander Petrov. He is Alexei Mishin's student and he participated in the finals of the Junior Grand Prix and the World Junior Championships in 2014. We look forward to his good result this season. Petrov is assigned to the 2nd of the Grand Prix events, and he is getting ready for it.
Alexander Samarin took part in Gran-Prix in Minsk last year, where he was fourth. He did not participate in test skates in Novogorsk. During this period he is training in the mountains in France at an altitude of 1800 meters. (Note that the competition in Courchevel will also be at an altitude). His new programs were viewed by the Vice President of the federation Alexander Kogan. He gave relevant recommendations to the skater and his coach. At that time, the level of Samarin's readiness was quite satisfactory.
It was decided to send in Courchevel only Samarin, as Andrei Lazukin unfortunately got injured. A newcomer of the russian team Dmitry Aliyev will perform at the following events of the series. By the way, at the test skates Aliyev attracted the attention of specialists. The last two seasons he was coached by Yevgeny Rukavitsyn. Dima came from Ukhta, Komi Republic. Before moving to St. Petersburg the boy actually trained at an outdoor rink because there wasn't any other as the coach said. Dmitry can do a quadruple toe loop and a triple axel. At the test skates he executed a quadruple jump, though not perfectly.

That's all so far;)

Aren't the seniors skating today?

I need some snippet of information or I'm going to simply explode.
