Yulia Lipnitskaya

I think it would be a very bad idea to repeat her SL.
Like she says herself, she needs sth new.
I think this program was so unique and almost iconic that it should be remembered like that. If she used it for another season IMO it's magic would fade after seeing it so often.
@Alba Yes I understood. I was, or am, only a bit worried. Of course it's no problem yet, she still has much time to find a FS, but other skaters like Elena, Gracie or Adelina, who have theirs for a month or so already, will have had way more time to work on their programs and refine them and get settled into them than Yulia had once the season starts.
That's why I reacted pretty worried:think::slink:

Yes, I know.
That remark was directed at Sam since he mentioned it as well. :)
@Meoima yes that would be a possibility if there's absolutely no option left, but I think Yulia wouldn't be happy doing it since she said she wasn't into it in the first place. ..
She's really keeping us on our toes:laugh:

I don't think its a big deal. Whatever the music will do her jumps, extreme Bielman, flexibility glide, and end with i-spin, look to the crowd, etc. So its mainly just about arranging those things and maybe doing something different with step sequence.

Oh for god's sake. What is Ilya doing?

Ilya is making money. I visited my family who stays in Sochi now. The city is full of posters with Averbukh's show. My wife wanted me to with her but I dissuaded her: all the current skaters are busy getting ready for the new season.

Now we are going to try another option, which both Eteri Georgievna and I like, but we will wait for Ilya to come back to hear his opinion. He has a fine understanding of music, he creates vivid and memorable programs, and we want to continue working with him.
Please, tell me it doesn't mean she has to wait till October, before she can begin mastering her LP...

Last year they did sessions that started at like 1am and went for several hours while doing SL. Maybe she'll go to Sochi and pull some late night sessions.

Of course not. She is saying there is no need to be in top shape six weeks before the first competition. Not that she is waiting 6 weeks.
It takes one week, max, to put a choreo together and she already has the music that she and Eteri likes.
So, all the time in the world to master it. No problem. ;)

Yep. I saw the videos of his show "City Lights" in Sochi. It was meant to last a month, from July 4 till August 10.
Now it has been announced "City Lights" will make long-run performances until November 3rd.

Have you read Ilya's schedule? He doesn't have a free week till October.

They could work for a couple nights in Sochi on setting things up and then spend a few a days or so later in Moscow perfecting it. I don't think they need 7 days in a row type of thing.

She doesn't need to have the same season in terms of results again. This year she needs to peak from December to March for the big events.

Which is why I think he owes her!! She was likely the number one reason why his shows were so successful. That isn't to take away from the other skaters but she was the number one draw. I remember reading how the skaters on the bus would tease her and say "oh look..it's Yulia Lipnitskaya" because she was getting so much attention. Not to mention her success last year gave him a nice feather in his cap. Priorities!!

I'm not mad yet but he is close to being on my SL!!!! (Again...the 'S' isn't for Schindler's)

I don't need to read Ilya's schedule papa. Yulia, Eteri and Ilya knows better about their schedule and arrangements.
If she says they will put a new program in place and are waiting for him. It means they know what they're doing.
I mean, she could have another choreographer anytime she wants.
I really think there is no need to be alarmed.

Really? I saw half-empty hall in videos.

Well, giving the fact that the show has been prolonged for another 3 months it means it's doing well.

Really? I saw half-empty hall in videos.

Iceberg has what - 10 thousand seats? There are 2.5 million tourists in Sochi per season which lasts from May through September. To have the ongoing full attendance he has to bring about 50% of all tourists to his show which is nonsense especially taking into account that Sochi stretches over 100 km and Olympic park is not at the center of it. I guess September will be very slow for them and he will have time for Yulia.

I also remember reading about the other show's half-empty halls, because people were disappointed by Yulia's absence. :rolleye:

She apparently wants him, not anybody else. Questions are: does he appreciate that and is working with her his priority?
