Yulia Lipnitskaya

Iceberg has what - 10 thousand seats? There are 2.5 million tourists in Sochi per season which lasts from May through September. To have the ongoing full attendance he has to bring about 50% of all tourists to his show which is nonsense especially taking into account that Sochi stretches over 100 km and Olympic park is not at the center of it. I guess September will be very slow for them and he will have time for Yulia.

According to NONKO on FSU, by 6 of August The show started July and it already got more than 50 thounsands crowd and skaters invited more than 700 children for the master classes.

Sorry to go off-topic, but has anybody got a video of the ladies victory ceremony in Sochi, or has a link to it?
I've been searching YouTube forever now, and I can't seem to find one

I also remember reading about the other show's half-empty halls, because people were disappointed by Yulia's absence. :rolleye:

She apparently wants him, not anybody else. Questions are: does he appreciate that and is working with her his priority?
I say, screw Ilya, go to Ilona Protasenya, Maria Sotskova's current choreographer. It's a real pity that such gems as SPs on Viejos Aires and 3rd movement of Vivaldi's Winter are not seen by the broader public.

People, don't worry! Last year that did SL for a night they just need to wait for Averbuch to come with a great idea. He's not a robot it takes time.

I agree with both.
As I said, there is still plenty of time. If not, there are other good choreographers that she can work with. If that's needed. ;)

Can someone help me find the video when Yulia said that she doesn't think of doing the 3A, but maybe the quadruple yes?

I don't think there is video but I've seen an interview at one point on a thread about girls attempting quads after the WC. I can't think of the name of the thread though.

In the interview she said she would have to rework her Axel technique to do a triple an it wasn't very likely to happen. She then went on to discuss that she has landed a quad on a harness before. It kind of seemed like the reporter was trying to get her to say she was working on a quad and she may have given up the info about the harness quad in a snarky way. Not sure though.

QUOTE=Sam-Skwantch;973995:
"Anyway...so there is chatter about her re-using SL which I think would be a bad idea. Why not just make Megaoplis her FS and extend it and bring back last years SP? She could drop the whole drawing on ice thing and maybe sell the program as the Gold medal that got away. She could play herself in Sochi going for the gold and coming up short only to again not give up on her love of skating. Has anyone ever played themselves as a character. She clearly could understand the role and portray images and feelings that only she felt."

Slutskaya, FS 2005, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x_8YaP3NeGI The autobiographical connection may not have been intentional. She had just recovered from a life-threatening illness. The music was in three parts. The first section is music of confidence and success (her life before illness). Then the cards of fate are dealt, and we hear murky, chilling, disjointed music. Fear, uncertaintly and sadness tear at a very beautiful melody, and finally all movement ceases, life is suspended on a sustained low note. Then the key suddenly changes and we hear a descending scale like stardust, and all is transformed into a jubilant dance of overcoming in the third section. She strongly projects her illness-recovery subtext to me, especially in the exuberant third section. I think the strength of this performance had a lot to do with acting out deep feelings, whether conscious or subconscious.

I too would like to see Megaoplis as a FS, but that would take considerable stretching of a tight composition. A short time ago someone posted a video of a previous performance dubbed with pan flute which really enhanced the effect. That, or something like it from her past that could be set to an exotic sound, would complement her exotic interpretive skill and would already have imprinted her imagination so she could prepare it quickly.

There was this video. A press conference, after Euros I think (?), when she said that she doesn't think of doing an Axel but she tried a quadruple in training.
It was posted here, but the title was in russian so I can't find in on youtube.

"choreography blah blah" lol she still has time & as mentioned she doesn't need to burst out the gates this season. just curious to see if she remains such a fierce competitor. on the other hand did anyone notice her physical beauty is increasing dramatically...

she really looks more 'womanly' in these recent shots than just a few months back. funny how kids change so quick. i also can't wait to see how her remarkable personality matures as well.

Davis&White changed changed their Golden Waltz short dance from a program set to the Amelie, after a feedback from judges and officials at U.S. Champs Camp, which was held Aug. 26-29.
Same story a year later with their free dance to Nino Rota's La Strada. They came out with Die Fledermaus. ;)

A different video of Kung Fu in 2010.

She is CAPTIVATING. She looks like an elfin girl from Russian fables.

Re-watching her Sabre dance and Kill Bill exhibitions. Both so amazing. And people still push the myth that she can't skate to a faster song.

What's this song about? Little Foxes & Yulia
This song lyrics are nonsense  Only thing that makes some sense is the title "You can win everything".
By the way Little Foxes is the project of same person who created t.A.T.u.
