This is hilarious. I think even they found it a bit funny. The crowd sure did.

On the more serious side, I have always thought that at the big events the kiss-n-cry should include a seat for the current leader.

Japanese are supposed to be stoic, but figure skaters in Japan are the exception. Very in touch with their emotions.

The back story is Kanako had not been skating well all year and if she didn't make the podium in Japan Nationals, she'd be off the Olympic team.
She needed to skate a perfect short program to be in the running. --and she did.

That would be very scary to watch... The bloodbath in Russian ladies field... I can't image how Kiss&cry with Yulia and Adelina would look like.

This is my all time favorite. I just love it. I rewatch this more than any other figure skating video.

I wish it had better audio. . . be easier to compare to Tara's, still think his is better even with out being able to hear him very well. His is more emotional, her's is more excited.

Also love how he waves at someone during the performance.

thanks for showing Rudy; that is epic. I do wish they wouldn't switch to the "former" first place skater in those instances; I don't want to see some poor guy trying to be a good sport, I want to see the winner in the K&C.


I also love almost any shot of Jason in the K&C, since he can't see the scores and squints so hard until Kori tells him... but the "I got what???" at US Nats is one of the best.

Jason's video also has the cut to Max trying to be a good sport short. As for Jason not seeing the scores. . . he still needs to stop squinting, but yeah, as someone with bad eyes, I notice the squinting, I don't find it attractive.

You can sorta seen Jason mouth "Im going to medal" in shock at Eric Bompard which found rather endearing. I think one version the announcer even compares him to Rudy. I am hoping to get some good reactions out of Jason this season, so fun seeing a happy person extra happy.

I also want to bring up Johnny Weir and his crown of roses at the 2010 Olympics, where he greeted friends and family on camera using a mixture of Russian and English. He knew he wasn't going to medal but he was full-on "I don't care what you think of me, I rocked it and the crowd thought so too". Even when his scores came up, he just shrugged. He won the crowd and did brilliantly, and that was what mattered to him.
