2014 Skate Canada Autumn Classic

Some interesting choreographic moves as usual and I love her dress, but I need to watch it again. Wasn't expecting that voice over.

I love both their outfits and how different they always are. I did not expect them to end up in 5th place. I would have put them above at least Paul/Islam.
I must say I have been watching the Danish team since they paired up and am very happy to see they got bronze here.

Not looking good this year for the Can Dance teams considering we had all 3 in the top 10 at worlds last year. First W/P come 2nd in the Free Dance and now G/P and P/I are both losing ground. All one can say - is they all have room for improvement! But then again so do the other teams.

And G/P do not have much time to improve before Skate Canada. And if they don't improve by then they won't be medaling there. Which they should be doing easily.

I am sure G&P will not completely blow a lift in the SD again this year, but they do need to go home and work on paso levels.

Its not like Sochi.

Apparently, it was a bit like Sochi in one regard. Someone who was there and doing online PBP said that after the final Canadian man skated, tons of people got up and left, leaving the last skater to perform for a much diminished audience. When I read that I thought "it's a mini Sochi". I couldn't help recalling the outrage when a big chunk of the audience bailed on the men's event at Sochi after Plushy withdrew.

A-a-u-ugh! the sun isn't even over the yard arm where I am, so I can't even have a glass of wine to console mysef !..I'm going to walk my dog , talk to some squirrels and crows and try to let this sink in.

My feed was freezing during P/I, so I didn't see the full program, but I saw the missed spin while waiting for the marks. I'll re-watch the archived stuff later .. but as a first reaction and strictly speaking of the look of the programs , my favourites were P/C, H/D, F-B/S, and O/W, in no particular order..( with the caveat that I couldn't get a real sense of P/I's , but what I saw of it didn't grab me). I quite dislike G/P's .. we've seen this kind of thing done so much better by so many others.. It just didn't dance.

:D ..Gee, am I bummed , much? ( I might need talking down...)

This is such a minor regional competition with very limited capacity held in week days. Probably only those directly connected with the participants or for whom attendance is very convenient are there. How could such an audience be representative of any general demographic or be compared to Sochi in any way?

You can bet no one would leave if there was to be a Takahashi or Fernandez still to skate.

I think is not the question of importance of the event but rather some question of personal culture ( i am not Russian or Canadian).

I have a feeling Wang is going to take this. Nerves can get to Daleman sometimes and being early to skate and 1st after the short just may be her undoing. And skating last really works in Wang's favour.

Despite the falls, Daleman still has a lot of contend. Tonight her jumps were wild but she landed most of them. The fall on the lutz really disrupted the program yet it suits her. It's an improvment over last year IMO. The lyrics fits well too here.

She certainly has the content and if she can go clean or close to clean she could score quite high. But I do think here she did get a bonus cause I am not sure that should have been that high with all her uncontrolled landings. But as someone else mentioned earlier - scores seem to be getting higher over the last few years especially for programs with a 3/3 and a 2A/3T in them.
