2025 Bosphorus Cup | Nov 25-30

Ran out of space on the second part of opening combination.

Fall on indicidual jump in same place as during the Warm-Up.

Spin was good, though.

Next jump went completely wrong right from the takeoff.

Spin was good, though.

Step Sequence good.

So was Sit Spin.

I think it's fair to say that the jumps were not working today.

I don't know if it's the fog, but I'm going to blame it anyway.

He mustn't have anybody with him. One of the Turkish coaches is sitting with him.

They're having a right chin-wag anyway!

He goes into 6th position.

He knew it was coming, so it's not bothering him.

But, for the things that did go well:

:cheer: WELL DONE DILLON :cheer:

We finish with two skaters from Kazakhstan. First up is Oleg MELNIKOV (KAZ), who is skating to "Still Loving You" by the Scorpions 🦂

He is wearing all black, with a silver guitar on his back.

I'm always up for a Scorpions programme. And Oleg's skating was up for it too! He was good.

He goes into 4th position.

The final skater, Nikita KRIVOSHEYEV (KAZ) was wearing all black and skating to "Swan Lake".

You can't beat finishing with a bit of Tchaikovsky!

But then it changed to a song, "After The Nightmare" by Dark Tenor, which samples the "Swan Lake" music.

It was surreal. And I am not sure what to think of it.

Skating was good.

He finishes the SP in 2nd position.

Back for the final Group Warm-Up in Senior Ice Dance.

The fog has cleared, but it took me a long time to spot Angelina and Ilia.

They did a couple of beautiful sets of Twizzles, and in the middle of them it looked like there was going to be a collision, but the other partnership stopped in their tracks.

Right, I am going back to Sheffield to watch my other set of kids that I didn't get watched properly before crossing over here.

CaroLiza_fan

Back again for my kids.

:cheer: ALL THE BEST ANGELINA AND ILIA!!! :cheer:

CaroLiza_fan

The audio is distorting badly. It took me a while to realise it was "Larger Than Life"

Twizzles looked good. ALthough, Angelina was blocking our view of Ilia for the second set. :p

Still a bit of fog, but no-where as much as for the Singles skaters earlier.

Nice choreography, and nicely in sync.

Ach, forgot "Backstreet's Back" was speeded up.

When they returned to "Larger Than Life", I loved the choreography that was straight out of the video.

Sitting on their own, but I think somebody is off-screen as Ilia is talking to somebody.

They look happy.

And so they should be. They have won the Short Dance!

:cheer:   :party2: :points: :hb:

:cheer: WELL DONE ANGELINA AND ILIA!! :cheer:

Unfortunately, due to writing Fan Fest reports, I wasn't able to finish my breakfast before this started. So, I will be popping in and out for a minute or so a couple of times. Consequently, I will be drifting behind a bit. But, I'll be caught up by the resurfacing.

Also the Entries / Results page has been unavailable since last night.

CaroLiza_fan

Just what we want to start the day with. "Je Suis Malade" :drama:

Apart from the Fed logo in the corner, there are no graphics of the screen. So, it looks like the technical problems extend beyond just the Entries / Results page.

CaroLiza_fan

And just like that, the graphics appear during the second skater's programme.  :points:

:thank:

Now they just need to fix the Entries / Results page so that we are not getting a "Secure Connection Failed" message.

In the meantime, although you don't get the livescoring, you can get the start orders on this archived snapshot of the Entries / Results page on the Wayback Machine:

Firstly, apologies that I have not been posting. I don't know why, but nothing has been loading for me in Firefox for the past two and a half hours! When I was posting my FD reminder in Isabella and Linus' Fan Fest, I did it in Chrome. And now I am posting this in Opera.

I don't know what was going on, but after skater #17 Tara PRASAD (IND) got her scores, skater #18 Julija LOVRENČIČ (SVN) was skating around the rink for 7 minutes before she was called to do her programme. :drama:

It didn't faze her. She goes into 2nd position overall.

CaroLiza_fan

It's a good job we weren't doing predictions on this event.

Things didn't go great for Sabina ALIEVA (AZE).

She was actually crying in the results area.

She goes into 5th position overall.

CaroLiza_fan

And now the leader after the SP, Chiara SCHÖLL (CHE), has gone into 5th position!

Which means that the winner is Nargiz SUELEYMANOVA (AZE), with Tara PRASAD (IND) in 2nd, and Julija LOVRENČIČ (SVN) in 3rd.

With the delay in the middle of that final group of girls, I'm not sure what time the boys will start.

CaroLiza_fan

🌵 Cacti on the ice!

Drat! We've missed the first three skaters!

Including my fellow Ulsterman. 😞

CaroLiza_fan

Oleg MELNIKOV (KAZ) is wearing all black, and skating to "Shot" by the Rasmus.

I enjoyed that.

He's got a Kazakhstan scarf with him, which he held up as if he was at a football match.

He goes into 2nd position overall.

CaroLiza_fan

OK, during the Warm-Up, I will update you on what has happened.

When the stream came back on air, we saw skater #3 Tadeas VACLAVIK (CZE) waiting for his scores. The graphics weren't working, but the announcer told him he had gone into the lead. And he was delighted.

The graphics were working for Melnikov, so we saw then that skater #2 Başar OKTAR (TUR) had withdrawn.

My fellow Ulsterman, Dillon JUDGE (IRL) is sitting in 3rd position.

And after the rowdy kids in Sheffield on Friday, we now have rowdy kids here, making their presence known throughout the warm-up.

CaroLiza_fan

Burak DEMIRBOĞA (TUR) wearing all black and doing a Notre Dame programme.

Oh no. He's had a hard fall and hurt himself.

He's gone over to the officials. Now he's gone over to the gate, doubled up in pain.

Looking through the get, there's a whole crowd around him.

Now they've cut away to the results area.

Back to the main camera, and he's back on the ice.

I think he's going to restart.

CaroLiza_fan

It's taking a while.

Yes. there's the music! He's going again.

He just about landed the first jump. But the next one was beautiful.

And no problems for the rest of the programme.

Wow! How did he do that?!

Talk about cheers when he finished! Now that is what I call support from the audience.

He struggled to sit down in the chair.

EIGHT youngsters have joined him and his coach in the results area.

One of them has now stood in front of the camera, showing him a sign.

I wonder if this is his swansong competition.

I'm sure this is not the way he would want it to end if it is.

All the kids are holding up signs to the camera.

I don't understand Turkish, but everything that is happening is making me pretty sure that this is his swansong.

He goes into 3rd position overall.

:cheer: WELL DONE BURAK!!! :cheer:
