FD Howl's Moving Castle (soundtrack) by Joe Hisaishi

This was a Japanese anime made from a famous teen reader's book by Diane Wynne Jones
He's is pseudo dress dark military uniform with gold stripe down leg
she in pale blue with floaty lavender touches

twizzles ok
rotational lift with him on one foot for some of it
into step sequence
lift flip over his head to pose standing on his foot
pair spin, slow on the change, not a lot of rotations
more running on skates
into step sequence
lift with a lot of flipping around. One of these is probably getting a deduction
step sequence
flats. Not going to get great levels here
Lift transitional
to waltzy end pose, laid back
polite applause

In fact give them credit for a nice waltzy feel to parts of this. Lifts had a very untidy feel to them.

Score 67.23.

pose to start
mirror bit and off they go into twizzles that go back and forth. kind of cool.
They seemed to get a bit stuck in a low position but rescued it
typical cantilever spread, her standing on thighs lift
some stuff
head tossing him
now both head toss
some interesting hold changes in the footwork he has a trip looking step face to face spread eagles into pair spin. Good speed in the spin.
shake hands at wrist
shoulder wiggling
long lift, not to the music, lots of changes
ending pose.
Need more speed, and it didn't help that the video & audio weren't well synched. Either that or they weren't on the beat at all. Could be either.

score 78.56 into 1st

That fall spooked me out! I kept freaking out that hte Shibs would fall for some reason. Thank god they didn't. Thought this program worked better than it did in Finlandia.

OMG, THE SHIBUTANIS ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) :)

I would put them into 1st place by far (though I admit I haven't watched anybody else but the Americans). ;)

Seriously, I knew there was something special about them when I saw them skate for the first time *LIVE* last year at Skate America. Totally by accident mind you, as I hate ice dance, but there was a mix up in the times, and I was forced to watch ice dance before the men that day, and what a delight these two were ~ Mai is stunning is even more stunning in person, and she looks at the crowd with such joy, affection, and love. Their "Smile" program was perfect for them.

An added bonus, they come across wholesome, pure, old-fashioned, beautiful. Which is a rarity in the world of ice dance . :p
