Canada got 3 spots, right?
Ok, then. I thought with Chan as champion, it was likely, but then Kevin didnt do as well so it makes sense.
2011 ice dance champions Vanessa Crone and Paul Poirier are no longer a team. Crone retired from competition, while Poirier is skating with Piper Gilles.
That doesn't necessarily mean anything different from what we already knew. As recently as the JGPF she was in the group photos Aldrige and Eaton posted of the skaters at their club , right along with P/B, W/P, H/D and the whole gang ...It may just be that she doesn't have a partner ( officially ?). CBC's explanation of why she's not there... Or am I clutching at straws ?
I don't always trust CBC's way with words. Wish we had some other clarification.
Looking forward to the Junior Ice Dance competition, so glad everything's on SkateBuzz now!
According to CBC Nationals Result page, Venessa Crone is retired.
They could have said she's not competing this year.. and let's face it, she was dumped ... Why should the ones who did the dumping get extra cover ? They could have just said 'This year, he has a new partner..' That's ok , they don't have to heap blame on him..but to say she's retired implies that she decided to quit , which left him to search for a new partner.
It goes beyond just not putting blame on him , it puts blame on her by implication .
PJ's take on the Nationals.
This is going to be a memorable year of Nam's Senior debut. His goal is to finish top 5. Ambitious but I wouldn't write him off. He and his parents know how to set the mind right.
