My favorite program of Mao is Liebestraum , and my favorite dress too.

And you know, I would considered Frank´s comment seriously if he would not said Gracie is better than Mao, what a joke, Gracie is good, but that comment was simply ridiculous.

omg i totally forgot about this program and how i fell in loved with it too back in 2011. This was the time that she reunited with Lori Nichol. Amazing stunning elegant costume. And this was the time that we saw that ballerina Mao again after the vancouver olympics.

This has got to be also my no.1 all time favorite program not just from Mao but by any skaters. The music is heaven, her costume is heaven, the choreography is heaven. I'ts heavenly feeling! When Jeremy Abbott did this program too I remember Mao.

To be honest she looks so lean and more elegant when she covers her skate shoe with stockings. I'm not that much of a fan of the white skate shoe.

but truth behold that Mao is the best dressed female skater of all time.

Here is an outstanding HD copy of Mao's Liebetraum from 4CC's 2011. The final step sequence with the pirouettes, twists leading into the final triple, arabesque and Biellmann really chokes me up with its supreme beauty and joy. I feel so fortunate to have lived during the same time that she performed this one and so many others. I like quite a few skaters, but she's the one I just couldn't do without. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_fHcE4uFg4

wow thank you for sharing! I could'nt agree more. Her step sequence is untouchable. And to have watched this program is a heavenly feeling.

If they say that God created ice for Yuna, I'd say God created an Angel on earth to bring heaven on ice and that is Mao. :)

I prefer the second version of Liebestraum but this is soooo beautiful too. She is so elegant and graceful, and I love her timing with music.

This will always be my favorite Mao's performance due to her major struggle at the beginning of the 2010/11 season. To see her come back from everyone writing her off to doing a full 360 with this one performance was exhilarating. And because of that strong comeback , I wasn't that bothered with her placing 6th at world's, because this performance gave me hope that no matter how hard she was struggling, she will succeed in the end(Hello! 2014 Olympics/Worlds record breaking SP/LP).

Is this the version you are talking about from 4CC 2012, Chapis? I won't go into the bogus scoring, but what a magnificent program. HD version

one of my favorite is the Agony Tango sp from 2010/2011, that i like to watch from time to time
what i like from this sp was that her struggle looks more real in this program than the lp Libestraum
i know that her perform-ens never quite reach the perfect or ideal that she usually achieve at the end of season
although the perform ens at nats was really good

that's way i try to search her video of this program from show
but none
she never perform this program after the season begin (she did one on the china show)
even on her own show The ICE, even tho she usually do her sp before on show
i wonder why
and that's because that magnificent divine Ballade no 1
she always perform on show

i love all my Ex program

Oh, that performance is very special for me because I was there, in the arena , but in general that new version all the season was even more beautiful for me because the step sequence is the most wonderful thing ever

Thanks gotoschool for giving me pointers to Mao's performances in HD. I'm lucky that Mao skates in the HD era, otherwise I'll be very gutted to watch her ethereal skating in 240p. It's also obvious that Mao has improved in speed, ice coverage, stroking, twizzles, check on the landings compared to 3 years ago. Basically almost everything and it's subtle, but improvement is improvement

As I said in an earlier post, I feel fortunate that I like Mao so much at every stage of her career. While many say she skated slowly during 2009-2010 and leaned too much in her jumps, I noticed how erect her back was, how high her jumps were, and how consistent she was in landing the triple axel with beautiful symmetrical trajectory. Also that season, her spirals and one handed Biellmann were the most flexible, graceful and dramatic I have ever seen. I think her "peaks" in big competitions were 2007 Grand Prix Final LP and 4CC 2008, Worlds 2010, and SOchi 2014 LP and Worlds 2014. And Czardas LP 2007 was extra special for me. Her tears at the end gets too me every time. I can't find an HD of that performance on youtube, but I do have one.

One of the things that impresses me most about Mao's skating is her compelling fight to prove herself against a system that in my opinion almost seems designed to hold down her scores because of her getting so many absurdly harsh urs and low GOE, despite her high tech base. Though she finally got the credit she deserved with the record in the SP, some of her greatest victories are often unrewarded by the "system" like her Sochi LP (in which she absurdly finished 3rd) or her Worlds 2010 LP (in which she absurdly finished 2nd).

Here is her Worlds 2010 LP in HD. My 2nd favorite LP ever after Roch 2.
Here she reminds me of a stealthy, graceful cat on the prowl late at night that finally pounces on the emotions during the sliding side step and mask like pose in the step sequence and final desperate one handed Biellmann.
I wrote a really long description of it earlier in this thread.

Last time I check, her Por Una Cabeza reached more than 1.5 million views. Whoever reported that:disapp:. That exhibition was her answer to those who say that her skating style was childish or monotone. She can tango and she may look small but she's the perfect combination of elegance and athleticism. It's too bad that she no longer adds the one-hand Y-spin to her programs. Her version of the Y-spin is often underlooked but I love it so much. She got perfect leg stretch, balance and the spin really matches the highlight of the music.

Still Mao's Liebestraum from 4CC's 2011 is my most favorite. The costume is in its finest.:)

I agree on liking the performance and costume just a little bit better in Liebestraum 2011, but wow she really delivered two incredibly beautiful and high triple axels in both programs, no matter what the judges said. The camera angel is better in the 2011 video version, so that might be part of the reason. But, I just like the spiral, step sequence, triple jump, and Biellmann to conclude the program in 2011. She also lifted her arms in an inspirational gesture when skating around the edge of the rink before entering this sequence, and she didn't pop any jumps.

The 2011 version is also my favourite

Like I stated before, that performance was the answer to all the naysayers who were counting her out due to her fumble during the 2010-11 Grand Prix. And that's what makes it so special. It was her second best comeback after Sochi 2014.

Every time I see that I just pray she does't retire (though if it's for the best, she should). She has more than enough to be the best of all time...but it's so frustrating that misfortune always strikes her at the wrong time. Perhaps only once every few decades will there be someone like Asada Mao :(

That commentary on that video though...Adelina Stony Koba...Triple Phillip!

Am I the only one who feel a bit of relief that Mao takes a break this season? I no longer feel emotionally involved in PCS fiasco and it's like the first time I discovered FS, I just cheer for everyone and enjoy what they deliver.
