The fact that Polina is 4CC Champ tells you what a bad night it was for the ladies. Congrats to her, but this means little for Worlds.

No chance. She won the competition because it was a weak field.

Although maybe she can now be seen as the US #2 skater in the judge's eyes, because headcase Gracie Gold can't deliver.

The level of badness from too many ladies is not something I would want to see that would allow edmunds to win worlds. You are talking about Carolina kostner 2009 worlds from so many.

Maybe a reminder of some scores from the ladies at Euros could be helpful:
Elizaveta TUKTAMYSHEVA 141.38 total (73.15 TES; 68.23 PCS)
Elena RADIONOVA 139.08 total (71.86 TES; 67.22 PCS)
Anna POGORILAYA 125.71 total (65.14 TES; 60.57 PCS)

In comparison, here are Polina's scores from 4CC:
Polina EDMUNDS 122.99 total (63.83 TES; 59.16 PCS)

I know you can't compare scores from different competitions, but . . . :slink:

Considering the score she put up, I think you're really reaching. :slink:

I think she is definitely a top 5 contender, maybe outside shot for bronze if something nuclear happens with some of the favorites as was the case tonight. But win? No. Not this year at least.

Yeah, and Ashley wasn't at 4CC either, plus I doubt Gracie will bomb as badly at Worlds (if she bombs at all).

I'd say she's an outside shot for top 5, no chance for podium.

I wouldn't say NO chance at all, but chances are quite slim. She'll likely hang around that 5th-8th range barring unthinkable developments.

If you think about it though, did you really expect tonight's results? After all, it IS ice...

Honestly, her win still hasn't sunk in for me. I know it happened, but my brain cannot process it.

If this becomes true, the WC's would have to have been extremely bomb-tastic....like everyone falling 2-3 times/popping several jumps type of bombing.

She threw away a gold medal. Actually, she decided she didn't want any medal at all at 4CC and had a complete meltdown. It was not pretty.
