I know it might seem insignificant, but she scored 75.54 at the GPF. Is she the first female skater to do so? I can't remember any time another female skater scored 75. There have been a lot of close 74's, we all remember the 2014 Olympics, Yulia, and even Satoko at this competition. Evgenia has cored 76, Carolina and Elizaveta have scored 77, and Mao and Yuna have scored 78, but I don't think anyone else has scored 75!!
 
... so what is the point? That finally someone scored exactly 75? Even though at least four other skaters scored higher than her? And I am certain someone else scored 75 anyway.
 
Mao Asada scored 75.84 at the 2009 ISU World Team Trophy, although I'm not sure scores from this event count?

Adelina scored 75.57 at the 2015 Mordovian Ornament too.
 
She might have made Canadian History. Someone from Canada will know. I know Joannie Rochette received some big numbers during her career but, she's probably the closest to Kaetlyn's numbers.
 
I believe the 75.54 was a national record for the SP and the 212.45 was a national record for total

I know what you mean, I just wanted to say that's it's nothing speciál that someone got 75 something (let's be picky right) :laugh:

Don't know about history, but to raise your international best score from 187.27 in Oct., to a 212.45, or by 25 points within 2 months, ...in one word, AMAZING!

BONUS that this was done outside of Canada, just for the sake of the regular naysayers, who always doubted Canadian women in the 200 Club, unless on home soil. Best get use to it as more to come!

I'm just glad she stuck it to the haters who are constantly saying she will never get 70+ SP internationally. They are absolutely fuming and it makes me love Kaetlyn that much more. :laugh:

Who could possibly hate on Kaetlyn?? She is one of the sweetest skaters out there. Jealous, I can see but, Hate, Never!!

She's Canadian... so, automatically people will hate on her. :sarcasm:

She also a threat, so by default that also means people will hate on her and dissect her skating to the nines.

But she just keeps doing her thing. :)
 
What history? Scoring some fairly random uneven number*? :confused:




*I know that this is great score, but for random person it can't tell anything + all technical elements have invented, conventional Base Values etc.

Same here. It seems Watermelondrea means someone scored 75 is a history, not higher than 75, not lower than 75; since no one else scored the exact number Kaetlyn scored, it is a history. :biggrin: If so, it is a history on some level, but not the history we care here.

Other forums and a certain user has expressed prejudiced sentiments towards Canadians so it's kind of an inside joke IMO.

I think if she actually did make history there would have been some sort of article. Probably best to go some detective work on Google first before posting a thread.
 
I don't consider a precise score that isn't the highest (or lowest) to be historical, although it may be a unique event. If so, Kaetlyn's 13th place finish in Sochi would be history because no one named Kaetlyn Osmond had ever finished 13th at an Olympics before. I think Kaetlyn is capable of making legitimate history, maybe highest score at Nationals or high placements at Worlds or Olympics.
 
Everything anyone does at any particular time is history for THEM.
So yes, Kaetlyn Osmond made her own personal history at the GPF, but so did everyone else in the world at that time, wherever they were.
