Evgenia Medvedeva | Page 181 | Golden Skate

Evgenia Medvedeva

it's rumors. :noshake:
and Max just said, "not the best physical condition". nothing more.
this video. I don't see anything wrong with her leg. she just walks in her skates. :scratch2:
tapes don't always mean that something is wrong. Sometimes it's just for support.

Very clear limp in that video. Do you really not see it? Hint: You can tell she's limping even when the view is on just her upper body.

Situations when you might limp like that is when for instance you don't want your ankle to have too much range of motion(forward and back). It's a very clear limp and I doubt she'd do that if she's healthy.

Ahhh, well I won't read it again as well. :)

Just read at Russian forum some rumors, that Zhenya is having some issues with ankle and ligament. But not sure how much it's true but looks like these tapes were needed. No need for panic, just again shows how difficult this sport is. Also, there is a video after SP when seems like she slightly limp while walking.

Again, hope she stays healthy as I am not sure I'd able to handle this after devastating news about Yuzuru.

Seems like she's overtraining. Eventually something's got to give. We can only have her coach to blame.

(M): Another one: What are Medvedeva’s physical problems?
She has some problems in the ligaments of an ankle that are keeping her from training to the fullest.
She usually trains a lot and really hard, paying attention to the tiniest details, so for now, she’s not able to train as she’s used to and that’s why she simplified her programs at the Rostelecom Cup.

For what? For training less? Read properly.
They’re taking care of her that’s for sure.

No, I think volk is saying her coach trains her too hard, resulting in the injury.
Yuzuru's injury happened when he was still recovering from a fever.

Yuzuru gets injured almost every year, Evgenia, on the other hand, has health problems first time in three seasons. I don’t blame their coaches bc they’re high level athletes. At that level everyone’s at a great risk of getting injured because of difficult elements they train.

no.. I really don't see anything "limp" here. She walks totally fine before and after the interview.:confused2:
Because if she is "limping" here.... so every athlete that I saw is limping in their skates.

Uh... huh? She's clearly favoring her right leg. As I said, it can be seen even when her feet aren't in view.

I've seen skaters walk with skates - I have seen Medvedeva walk with skates. I really don't know how you can't see she's limping.

I have seen her walk with skates and even run with skates. And I still don't see anything here. :rolleye:

While I think she's not at her best physically, I don't think it's bad enough that she would limp... that would mean she would have much more difficulties in skating, I think. I hope she doesn't strain herself too much and that she gets to her top form soon! Good luck in the free!

She has almost the dame injury in the right ankle like Hanyu? I wonder if she should rest and WD from GPF. I think at this rate Russian fed should give her a pass.

The GPF is in a month, which is good because it's enough time to either recover/treat the injury or realize whether it's better to withdraw (which I doubt she will unless the injury is extremely serious)

Ok Zhenya! We love you! Don't be upset! You did everything you could and gave a strong fight. Now please please take care of yourself and get all the help you need before the next competition!

I think at this rate they should work out with the doctor. It has been like that since CoR.

Congrats to Zhenya for having golden medals for every GP and getting into GPF!

Once again, she proved that she has a great character, after first 2 mistakes, she focused and managed to make all combos in 2d half with rippons as well as making sure she did both 2A.
It was a difficult skate but she fought until the end.
She is under lots of pressure, so hope she can handle it and stays healthy! You can do it, Zhenya!

Zhenya's dress is so well-made based on the description of Anna Karenina's dress in the novel:

Anna was not in lilac, the colour Kitty was so sure she ought to have worn, but in a low-necked black velvet dress which exposed her full shoulder and bosom that seemed carved out of old ivory, and her rounded arms with the very small hands. Her dress was richly trimmed with Venetian lace. In her black hair, all her own, she wore a little garland of pansies, and in her girdle, among the lace, a bunch of the same flowers.(http://clothesinbooks.blogspot.com/2012/09/anna-karenina-briefly-happy-in-black.html)

I'm so impressed! I wish her a speedy recovery, and she will find her confidence back.

She looks quite sad :( can anyone translate this?

Here we go, she was very grateful for support although upset due to mistakes:

J: Congratulation for winning. How do you to feel about it?
Z: First of all, I want to thank the audience/viewers for the amazing support I was given, because the audience is always sincere (welcoming) in Japan. It is seen that lots of people love our sport and figure skating unites all of us in my opinion. I am feeling a bit upset due to my mistakes in FP, but I feel much better due to the support of the audience.Thank you very much!

J: Although this is Olimpic season and after this would be GPF, what does NHK competition mean to you?
Z: For me every skate is very important. It doesn't matter if it's training skate, exhibition skate or it is WC, EC, GP every skate is equally important to me.
It's important to put my soul into performance so audience/viewers would able to feel it, so I would able enjoy my skate as well everyone who watches.

I applaud to Evgenia for having so much mental strength to regroup after two such big mistakes and skate the rest of the program so beautifully! Messing up the first two elements: most skaters would just fall apart.

I'm sad to see her so disappointed and worried, and just hope she's physically fine. IMO she should even take a rest, and not train as vigorously until the GPF - skating as she is now she's still unbeatable by the rest of the competition, so better take care and don't risk it too much.
