I'm thinking just fatigue, one of those seasons where it doesn't go that well.
heck Hanyu has had worst seasons, just that ladies skaters get hammered for their mistakes more than men.

According to Italian Eurosport she is having some pain to her ankle ligaments (hence the tapes on both ankles) - it doesn't seem like anything too serious fortunately, I think the month of no competing before GPF will definitely help

It's probably a sprain, a level 1 sprain which is not that serious but as she's skating, she's still aggravating it. And uh, ankles are notoriously messy. They'll swell up even after they've healed so I am not surprised it's taking as long as it's taking, even with their adjustment to make sure she's healing well. It'll be fine, there's enough time before GPF.
I really don't want to see her sad like this again, and especially not because of any injuries. What even is this season.
As for her skate today, I would actually say it's a major win because she did not give up and fought for it till the end, like a true champion. Hats off to her, major respect. Now rest, and heal fully Zhenya, and congrats!

Congrats to zhenya for the win.
I don't really agree with the scores but I think she was a real fighter today. When I watch her, I don't worry at all about the performance. You just know she's going to deliver even after a mistake. It's one of the things I admire about zhenya. Get well soon, Sailor Moon! *that rhymed LOL

Road to the top is filled with ups and downs. We shouldn't expect her to skate clean every single time, as she is only human. I have so much respect for her because she is able to go out there and give her all every time with all of the pressure on her young shoulders. Once again, she has proved she is a fighter. Congratulations on a well deserved gold, Zhenya :luv17:.

I think she has a slight injury because she would never make those mistakes without an injury I think. She is such a fighter though, coming back after a fall and a step out on her second jump is truly amazing. You dont see many skaters do this really (excpet maybe Alina haha). I hope she takes a much needed break before the GPF and comes back to slay everyone.

it'll be okay.
I was nearly in tears watching her, it was so sad.
Amazing to see her recover after that, and to add the rippons and tanos back in from Rostelecom when she was injured.
But she needs to let it heal. I hope she can make it to the GPF but she is more important than a medal and I hope she realizes that. Even if it's just a grade I, it'll need at least a week. Now that she doesn't compete until December she can give it that, I hope. I really hope this doesn't turn into a season-crusher (I don't think it will but skating is cruel sometimes) There's no one that deserves the OGM more than she does at this point. I hope she can come back soon stronger than her injury and stable and ready to compete and not a moment before that. I hope that she isn't too hard on herself and realizes that it's a miracle she's made it this far without a major injury. I hope she doesn't let this define her NHK experience because I know she loves Japan so much. I hope that she will continue to dominate everything and win everything because honestly that's such a fascinating part of this sport and I love her skating so much. And her personality. I hope she slays everyone and proves her haters wrong again and again.
Keeping her in my thoughts and I hope that everyone else is doing the same. She's worth our thoughts anyway.

I was very worried about the possible injury! I was very scared whenshe fell. I admire her a lot, because she didn't lose concentration after messing up her first two elements.She maintained her character, struggled to maintain the level of her stsq, her exquisite and difficult work of standing and skating on one foot (that scared me more, a lot of pressure on one leg could be complicated), she could execute her other elements well. I hope to see anna Karenina completely clean, and to her completely healthy, don't push yourself, Janny!
I hope she (and her team) take care of those little annoyances in her foot, even if it's nothing serious, even if it's just pain, she have to take care ofherself, rest, overtraining would hurt her, especially now.She works so hard and always gives the best of herself. Some people on twitter said she’s fine due to some close friend working at Sambo 70. I would think it’s just some slight pain and nothing serious.
