Unfortunately, I missed the Warm-Up and the start of the first skater's programme. But, I'm here now for the next hour.

Just to let you know, the Russian skater, #8 Darya MOSKVITINA (Madrid), has withdrawn. But the French skater that is due to be the last girl to skate before the boys, #27 Enola POULAIN (Barcelona), is still there.

My goodness, I only noticed there now. Apart from the two foreign skaters that I have already mentioned, three Basque skaters, and one skater from Navarra, all the other skaters are from Madrid! 21 of them! 😲

The first two Basque skaters are coming up now, back-to-back.

Have to say, I loved that programme from skater #5 Naia LÓPEZ de MUNAIN ECHEVERRIA (EUS).

She was skating to "La Isla Bonita" by Madonna. I wish we had heard more of that song last season when we had the 80's theme in Ice Dance.

She was wearing a red dress.

She goes into 4th position.

Now for her compatriot.

CaroLiza_fan

And I also loved the programme from the second Basque girl, skater #6 Otxanda ERRASTI PARGARAY!

They're sitting together, so they must be from the same club.

Otxanda was dressed as an air hostess, and skating to "Come Fly With Me" by Frank Sinatra, and a song I don't know that I guess is called "Fly Baby Fly".

She goes into 5th position, just 0.01 points behind team-mate Naia! :jaw:

This is going to make for an interesting FS!

No prizes for guessing what skater #7 Marta BRASERO DÍAZ (MAD) was skating to!

But, her costume wasn't like anything that Shania Twain wore in the video. I fact, it made me think more of Santa Claus!

She goes into 3rd position. Just 0.01 ahead of skater #4 Lucía SIERRA IZQUIERDO (MAD).

I don't know if they are team-mates.

Well, it took until the first skater in Group 2, but we have just had our first "Carmen" programme. Courtesy of skater #9 Nora MELGUIZO GÓMEZ (MAD).

She was wearing a black and red olè 💃 dress.

She goes into 2nd position.

Skater #10 Alejandra GARCÍA LEÓN (MAD) was wearing a very white dress, with a Paul Poirier style circle cut out of the back (he is never going to live that down, is he?!)

I don't know the music, but I really enjoyed it.

I liked the way she got into her finishing position, but she only started the move into it after the music finished. So, she may get dinged for it.

She goes into 9th and last position. But is only 0.07 behind Maia GÓMEZ CHECA (MAD).

Again, I don't know if they are team-mates.

That was beautiful from skater #11 Inés VÁZQUEZ GARRIDO (MAD)

She was wearing a beautiful black dress, and skating to a beautiful piece of music.

Aha! The girl that skated just before her, Alejandra GARCÍA LEÓN (MAD), has stayed on. So, they must be team-mates.

Neither of them look very happy. Inés looks particularly sad.

Inés goes into 4th position.

The only skater from Navarra, #12 June NÚÑEZ ARDANZA (NAV), was wearing a red dress. And skating to a cover of The Cranberries' "Zombie".

I think I might have seen her at a previous competition this season, because everything seemed familiar.

EDIT: I just checked. It was last year's Nationals I remembered her from. She kept the same SP for this season.

She fell on the first element. And there was another jump early on where the landing wasn't great. But after that it went smoother.

She goes into 11th and last position. But is less than a point behind the girl two positions above her.

Skater #13 Elsa PLAZA GONZALEZ (MAD) was wearing a gorgeous black dress and skating to Michael Bublé's cover of "Fever".

I really enjoyed that.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

The last skater in Group 2, #14 Nora CABEZUELO ESPADAS (MAD) was wearing a dress that was designed to look like a deep red sparkling waistcoat and skirt, over a black shirt.

I've seen programmes to this music before, but I don't know what it is called.

She had a dodgy landing early on, but otherwise wasn't bad.

She goes into 2nd position.

CaroLiza_fan

Right, I'm away for food now, so I will miss Group 3.

See you after the resurfacing.

CaroLiza_fan

I'm back.

I see the last skater before the resurfacing, the third and final Basque girl, Ayala SÁEZ de MATURANA SALAZAR (EUS), went into 4th position. She is the only skater not from Madrid in the current Top 13 positions! 😲

Apart from the French girl and the Basque boy skating directly after her, it is all Madrid skaters in this group.

It should be noted that we have another withdrawal. The last of the Madrid girls, skater #26 Carmen GARCIA MERINO (MAD), has withdrawn.

Actually, I can only count 6 skaters on the ice. So, maybe the boys are getting their own Warm-Up after all.

CaroLiza_fan

Now this is what you want when you come back to watching the skating. A bit of Joan Jett with "I Love Rock And Roll"! Followed by a female cover of AC/DC's "Thunderstruck".

I loved that!!!

Skater #22 Adriana GERBER ARENAS (MAD) was wearing a black dress.

She goes into the lead. And I thoroughly agree with that!

CaroLiza_fan

Oh, what I would have given for skater #23 África HERNANDO PAÑOS (MAD) to have been skating to a certain song by Toto...

She was actually skating to a classical piece. Although, the violin sounded too squeaky. She was wearing a beautiful burgundy dress.

There were a few times when she looked iffy.

She goes into 22nd and last position.

She's very disappointed.

CaroLiza_fan

Skater #24 Bibian Esther NAVARRO RICALDI (MAD) was wearing a blue-ish white-ish dress, and skating to Alexandra Burke's cover of "Hallelujah". And we even heard the moment that Dermott O'Leary announced her as the winner of the X-Factor! Never noticed that in the song before!

This is my favourite female version of "Hallelujah". So, I am biased. But, everything about that was beautiful.

Ah, as well as the coaches, one of the boys is sitting with her. I'm guessing that's Skater #2 Pablo BUENO GARCÍA (MAD).

She goes into 17th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Who is this murdering Tina Turner?! Whoever she is, she is not Simply The Best. And then she went on to murder "Nutbush City Limits" and "Proud Mary". :drama:

I'm sure Blanca SALAZAR MARTÍN (MAD) will say it wasn't her best skate. She had a real face plant of a fall early on.

She was wearing a lovely gold dress which reminded me of Carolina Kostner's FS dress from 2002-03.

She goes into 4th position.

CaroLiza_fan

Awww. The French girl is tiny!

Enola POULAIN (FRA) is wearing a white dress with red trim. And skating to "I've Got No Boots" by Alice Merton. Which turned into a re-mix in the last third.

Hang on. If I picked up correctly, she is from Andorra, but representing France. And her club is FC Barcelona.

She goes into 14th position.
