Idk what "skating quality" means but he has plenty of rivals in performance, interpretation, choreo, and SS. If Denis Ten and Hanyan were to land their jumps they would even rival Yuzu's GOEs (but neither would get those scores due to inconsistency).

I agree with you about Dennis Ten absolutely!

Maxim... well he did it all but it wasn't exactly pretty on his way there
Well said  I don't know about Voronov though, his axel made me wow out loud. Still, the scores were pretty fair overall. Hopefully Javi will be able to do a clean FS. Even if just to satisfy the fans.

-3 for Machida's 4/3 seems harsh. But I am glad he put it in—you could see him thinking about it in real time. Ultimately, upping his tech content is important to chasing Hanyu.

To all the people saying the scores were fair and Voronov didn't deserve more PCS: I understand he's nowhere near as graceful, smooth, or controlled as Yuzuru. But could you explain to me his PCS gap with Kovtun? (And Kovtun actually had the messier skate)

I don't know what to think about Javi know. I just hope he will have skate of his life tomorrow

Somebody above mentioned that the skating order hurt him. Apparently, skating right after Hanyu makes everyone look in 6.25 range.

It's RIDICULOUS that Machida's SP at Skate America, Ten's SP at TEB, and Fernandez' SP at Rostelecom scored less than Hanyu's SP here.

Wait. Hanyu's 3Z-3T has more -2's and -3's than Machida's 4T-3T. Is the computer sure that that only adds up to -1.90??

Remember too that a combo with a quad is factored by 1.00 but a triple/triple combo is only factored at .7. So for Yuzu's combo when you take out the low and high GOE it comes to -19 points. Divide that by 7 and multiply it by .7 you get -1.9 points.

With Machida if you take out his high and low his GOE comes to -15 points. Divide that by 7 and it rounds out to -2.14 but you don't factor it by anything because it's a quad combo hence the larger penalty.

I don't remember seeing Javi looking really comfortable and sharp since the year before the Olys. Of course I hope he regains that form.

There is nothing wrong in Yuzuru scoresheet. Everything looks fine, so I don't get any comments about overscoring on this. Better rewatch his SP. Superb performance overall :)

9.25 for Performance/Execution with a fall? -2's for a 3Z+3T combo that had obvious leans on both jumps, and a fall on the second? Like I said, it's insane that -3's can be given to Machida's quad combo, but Hanyu's lutz combo received -2's.

I will say that Hanyu should have had slightly higher GOE on his quad, IMO.

I can easily explain you why.

1) Hanyu had 4 levels on everything
2) His PCS was lower than Machida at SA
3) He made fall on rotated 3T at the end of 3Lz combo in 2nd half. It's not that harsh mistake as fall on 3A or 4T
4. ) If he would land this combo he would have been very close to break 100 again ( his top PCS from last season is at 47, here he got 43, so with clean skate he for sure would receive higher )
5. ) Skating quality, and overall performance was still superb and he didn't let fall affect this

Regarding Jarvie score... i though 3Lz is a mandatory jump. Any doubling or poping get -3GOE ??? or maybe the scoring changed?
