One of the best death spirals I've seen Matthew and Paris do. Good job guys!

I think we're talking semantics here. Better, sure. But I still think they did quite well. Alena's only mistake was the stepout on the 2A and Liza had a turnout on after the 3T-3T -- looking at the judges scores that was not much of a factor....

My point is, I think they did skate well, I enjoyed their performances and I believe it's a good start to the season.

I agree - I think those were really good early season performances. Good, but room for improvement, and something to build upon.

(Liza is my favourite lady, so needless to say I'm really happy - I just don't want to say anything for fear of jinxing!)

What happened there at the end? I looked away for a moment and when I looked back they were standing about aimlessly?

I don't understand PCS nowadays ... and I think Mariah Bell's PCS is underscored.

Mariah's PCS is a bit of a head scratcher given its huge range.

Four the judges gave her 6s and 7s.

The other half (the majority, sadly) opted for 5s.

As a result she was in the low 6s (and high 5 for transitions).

Yes, they both (Alena and Liza) skated significantly better than past season, when both were at bad state.
They are restoring.

I meant that they may restore to better state than now.

DO you mean Maria and Nikita? He couldnt lift her up so they were kind of in a situation of "what now" for a few seconds as it was at the end of their program.

In general, a lot of pairs do struggle with their lifts today its quite shocking. It cant be the temperature like at Bern once - especially towards the end of their programs they just cant lift the girl safely up anymore - totally out of steam the guys.

I missed the lady. was teaching in the class at that time. what a pity Gold fell. But it's still early. Looking forward to her LP.
Now it's turn to wait for K/S.
