2014 Olympics Ladies Short Program

Sorry, but that's a blatant lie. Did Frank Carroll ask you to say that? Wouldn't suprise me if he did. After all, he thinks Julia is only a little girl, Mao can't do a triple axel and doesn't have better skating skills or interpretation than Gracie. For Yuna, he cannot tell who's who among the three Korean girls because their styles are all the same according to him. See this: http://www.nytimes.com/2014/02/19/sp...erfection.html

Well, you know what? Gracie is a lipper. She's been consistently receiving wrong edge mark on her flips since she turned a senior. At least get your facts right before you parade Gracie as the greatest thing ever happened on the earth.

I love Gracie but I think Frank made a mistake by packaging her like Kwan. Gone are her huge jumps and athletic prowness. She should have went to Rafael instead and Tatianna for a choreographer. Even Mr. Nicks would have been a better choice. It's not a good fit IMO.

She improved alright but far from the one of best skaters at present that her team is trying to make her to be. I just feel it's unnecessary pressure placed on her that may backfire.

;):rolleye::eek::sarcasm:

What!!!! a lady win an OGM without a 3AX. Horrors

Julia is not a lady; she is a little girl:laugh:

If Gracie skates a clean program and isn't on the podium, that would be such a huge wuzrobbing. Out of all the top ladies, she is the ONLY one with 1. correct triples, 2. all the triples, 3. huge triples. And her spins, skating skills, and artistry are solid as well.

These statements which provide no evidence or facts to support and are purely FANtastical statements will be my end!

#3. So apparently Yuna,Adelina, and even Caro don't have HUGE triples:bang::bang::bang::bang::bang:

How does Ashley play into all this? Does anyone think she will get on the podium? They may has well sent Mirai if the competition is pretty much already decided. That's B.s. ;-)

Yes, Frank Carroll must have told me to say this, because how else could I have an opinion that disagrees with some random person with 4 posts who crawled out of some hole for the Olympics. And no, Gracie has not always gotten wrong edge marks on her flip. Sometimes it's on a flat, sometimes it's not. Whereas people without the lutz never have the correct outside edge.

So what, posting a lot on this board makes you a god whom all of us must listen to? Don't make me laugh. Also, ignorance is not a bliss in your case. :rolleye: Gracie doesn't sometimes lip. She ALWAYS lips. That's the cold & hard truth.

For your enlightment, I have kindly attached all of her international comps protocols since she became a senior. Check them out and learn something. :sarcasm:

Starting 2013-2014 season, Gracie is no longer doing a triple flip in her SP because she and Frank know that she can't do the jump on the correct edge. She replaced it with a triple loop.

I now hope Mae wins the whole thing! I can see it now. French judge steals the show and Mae gets a thread!! Can you imagine all the ('s) all over the place. No one would know what to do.

Are you actually serious. I don't know why you think Yuna has the judges favoritism. She has deserved every title she has won. Her skating federation is a joke as is their support. There has honestly been no incentive for judges to favor her over skaters from major FSing nations. Additionally, there are barely no international events in Korea. The quality of her jumps is innate and due to her ability not due to some number, which is evident when you watch her skate.

This is so true! Yuna is the only skater who in my mind deserved every score she got. I love many skaters, and I've watched so many performances. Many of them I wondered if the scores were supposed to be that high. But with her, she's the only one I can really feel she deserved them. She gets higher scores cause she has always been a better skater. This is my opinion of course :)

Part of Frank's job is to create a buzz that says Gracie is a winner and as good as other medal contenders. He's fine.

From a jump perspective Gracie Adelina and Carolina all have all their jumps and they are big. Gracie is prone to lip, Adelina to flutz and Carolina to ur or double something (maybe I'm wrong and like Yuna she's missing the loop?) I do wish Yuna could so the loop, is a little bit of an asterisk next to her name for me, otherwise great quality. Julia's jumps aren't nearly so big, and often flutzes, but doesn't ur and is in good control of her landing edge. None are perfect, all are worthy Olympians. Mao too, though I think she won't be remembered for jumps, other then the 3A

I don't see Ashley on the podium. It seems when she gets nervous, which I'm predicting she will be, she starts two footing her jumps or worse, under rotating and falling. Hopefully she will prove me wrong. Gracie and Polina: solid!!

Yeah that is part of the problems in this sport. Campaigning and packaging. It's so subjective at times. The scoring system has serious issues. I think that the computer should automatically deduct GOE when a skater takes off of the wrong edge and two foots. Falls and UR and downgrades need to be tweaked too.

****. You betches be vicious up in here. It hasn't even started yet and y'all are tearing each other apart. Can't we all unite around our savior, Michelle Kwan?

Oh wow. I was wondering if we could get through an Olympics without mentioning her name. Off topic question: During the technical program at the 2002 Olympics...What exactly went wrong with her flip? The toe slipped out right? Did Scott mean her vaulting toe?

Michelle Kwan is apparently working as an analyst for FOX in Sochi. They were previewing the ladies event, and then at the end the host asked her about her Olympics and if she wished she were skating at these Olympics. And then I remembered, every time I have ever seen her as an analyst on tv in recent years, the various hosts always asked her the same question. Since the question always comes off forced, I'm assuming she specifically prods them to ask her about it beforehand. Which seems bizarre and narcissistic to me.
