I'm not sure why you think P/I's music is a rhumba, coleen o'neill. Is it the name? Farruca y Rumba is a piece of flamenco music, and I don't think anything they've used from it could be classified as rumba, especially not during the paso sequences.

Protocols don't appear to be up yet, but PCS marks are. And a shaky lift alone doesn't explain why P/C beat P/I on PCS when P/I are superior in other areas.

Sounds like P/I had a mishap this morning. Glad it was nothing serious!

No, I was going by the rhythm... having studied a teeny bit of flamenco, myself. Rhumba or rumba, that's what it is ( a bit of a different feel from a latin Rhumba, but same basic rhythm.. though faster). It may have the same number of beats per measure, but also a very different feel from a real paso doble. It's more playful, less pompous, if you like ;)

Still, I love this team. They're my favourite up-and-comers. In my mind, I'm always judging them against the perfection I feel they're capable of (but not in a denigrating way). ...And I've noticed ,over the past few years that the judges are often not as bothered as I am by music deviations, so it may not work against them, anyway... All round, do I think they're better than P/C..yep.So I'm happy to capitulate, if you say they still deserved the win ( It's what I wanted, after all)

I did like P/C's program and there was nothing tentative about their presentation, so with my lack of detailed technical knowledge, and fighting (as always) against my latent homerism, I was willing to let go of it, while being very unhappy with the point spread.

Looking forward to tomorrow.

Kihara's long preparation to throw scared me. Thank God the twist throw turned out OK but sure enough the throw jump was so off resulting in a fall.

No score available? Makes it sound like they ran out or something... Anyway, poor Caitlin and Hamish, it can't be fun not to know your score...

Brittany is a tall for Pairs and she is gangly. How old is she? Maybe she will grow out of it, without growing taller.

It's really too bad about Jones/ Reagan... Last year at Nationals they were SO new- like only 4 months or something, and looked so promising it was really exciting! But it seemed that they had a rough off-season, and it looks like she grew which makes things difficult. I'm still hopeful, though, that they can grow together more!

Thank you for the explanation! I didn't realize there was such a thing as flamenco-rumba, and was not hearing anything that sounded like latin rumba in this dance.
