That is a fantastic score for those two! They are really proving themselves this season. :)

For D/F, there were several weaker elements which they undoubtedly lost points on, such as their death spiral, SBS spins, and both their throw and sbs jumps weren't clean. I'm not saying the score wasn't a little low, but I don't think it's unreasonable, or that they deserved a 60 or close to it.

I'm far from an expert but I had them at 60, or high 50s at least...

It seemed as if they were dinged on everything where P/W and C/S were scored with a lot more leniency. And PCS wise, D/F were IMO way superior. They just seemed much more seasoned. I don't understand how Calalang and Sidhu could possibly have come out 8 points ahead of them.

Unfortunately, I've been getting "Error establishing a database connection" when clicking on those links.

Yep, I've been getting the database error, so the guerrilla method of file access it is for now. ;)

Ohhh, sorry. (The links on the event page have been functioning decently for me. Didn't realize that they were completely useless for others.)

You have to look at the protocols (once they're available). Purich & Wolfe might have gotten full credit for the SBS 3T, despite her error. They also do a harder throw than D&F, although neither pair's throw was that great. D&F's SBS jumps were both 2-footed and at least one of them likely deserved to get dinged with an under rotation.

I think Calalang & Sidhu's lines match each other better than D&F. Frazier's extension is so different from Denney's (for example, watch the SBS spins). C&S did a harder throw with better execution. D&F's death spiral, SBS jumps & spins were weaker today. C&S also got more height on their triple twist, although Calalang brushed Sidhu's head on the catch, so I might consider them even on that element for today. Overall, C&S were stronger on several elements than D&F were. Unless you really know pairs and all the level criteria, sometimes that's not as obvious without looking at the protocols.

Duhamel & Radford of course were the class of the field. Her 3Lz kept them out of the 70 point range today, but they delivered a quality short program. It was too bad that Grenier & Deschamps had SBS jump troubles as that is perhaps their strongest element. It was a struggle for the Canadian pairs today, but D&R were still quite impressive. Maybe Purich & Wolfe's score was a bit high, but it's hard to know without seeing the protocols.

Nam popped a jump in an enjoyable program.

17 year old Argentinean Denis has good potential. With Senior B events now being held in N America, more of the skaters from smaller federations, who train and probably go to school in N A get to compete more for experience and exposure, and we get to see them and discover talents.

Looking forward to the last group which includes Reynolds, J10, and Miner.

Now skating for Argentina, Denis Margalik is/was Canada's 2014 junior national champion.

Denis was fun to watch! Nice enthusiasm.

My feed has been sketchy at best so I took a break and hoping it will be better now. Of course I missed the first two Americans but I'm hoping to get the last group.

Wow...you don't see many men with an I-spin like that!

And what an interesting juxtaposition between Christopher and the Polish fellow right after him...but variety is the spice of life, after all...
