If officials of federations will not be judges - where will we find judges?

They might just give the spots out to substitutes on the GP list instead if they can't fill it. I remember Geng Bingwa from a couple years ago was injured and just came back, but not sure if she's ready.
China has two TBD spots in Ladies.
It is not an ordinary situation - ordinarily may be not more than one TBD spot.
The only Chinese Lady in Top75 Seson Best is Zijun Li.
Others known:
Kexin Zhang - retired.
Bingwa Geng - unknown state, had no Internationals previous season.
Ziguan Zhao - 113-th of Season Best, score 120.89.
Others (Junior)
Xiangning LI - 102-th of Season Best, score 125.85, born at 2000, probably will be at JGP.
Xiaowen GUO - 226-th of Season Best, score 70.58, too low level for GP.
So may be filled both spots (Bingwa Geng and Ziguan Zhao), or one, or none if both Ladies are not ready.
It there will be free spots, China will invite skaters from substitute list.

LOL! In 2014-2015:
In Singles and Pairs, Russia had 3 other ISU Referees besides Kogan, and 9 other ISU judges besides Alla Shekhovtseva. (In 2013-2014, there were all those ISU judges yet Alla got all the plum judging assignments, including two GPs, GPF, Euros, 4CC and Olympics).
In Ice Dance, Russia had Gorshkov and Shekhovtseva as ISU Referees, and 5 ISU judges.

Is it somehow noteworthy that judges tend to generously score skaters from their own country? Any Russian judge would score a Russian skater high. It's also extremely sexist to expect a woman not to be a judge merely because of who her husband is. We never make this same inquiry of men and look at what their wives happen to do for a living.
The problem under discussion was that Alexander Kogan replaced Piseev as head of the Russian federation and still continued to judge and referee figure skating events. It was bad enough that Piseev's wife Shekhovtseva was judging and refereeing events, but when the head of the federation is doing it, it is that much worse.
It isn't as if there are no other ISU-level Russian judges and referees available for the assignments. :sarcasm:

Oh, the hypocrisy rampant in this thread, of all the butthurt Yunafans who still cannot accept that she wasn't good enough on the night - the hypocrisy of those who wail and gnash their teeth over an official in the Russian federation still judging, but yet do not have an issue with the vice-president of the KSU still judging herself...
What are the chances some of the TBD spots for certain countries can't be filled up and Hurtado/Diaz gets the spot? I'm so disappointed they only have one GP assigment. They earned PBs, competed at 2 GPs, won 2 Senior B medals and got their highest placements at Euros and Worlds and they only get one spot. I have my fingers crossed for TEB for them...

Obviously the ISU should fund GoldenSkate forum posters to receive judges' training and travel to all of the events! After thoroughly vetting us to find the ones who won't be TOO partial to their favorites, of course...

Or at least bribe people to become judges with tickets.
Really Skate America hardly sells out, I am sure there are some people who would start learning to be judges in exchange for tickets. And would that be so bad? My understanding is that you have to start by judging lower level stuff and work your way up. What would be wrong with "judge x number of shows and you get tickets" as a way to at least generate more of a pool.

It would be great to see Sara and Adri getting another GP event, I was actually a bit stunned that they only got one, exactly because of how they improved. Hopefully they'll be at TEB (or any other event for that matter).
Last year, SC invited H/D. But then H/D beat Paul/Islam at TEB. This year, P/I are at SC, so Skate Canada wasn't going to risk inviting H/D this time....
I'm not sure if France has 2 other ID teams so I'm crossing my fingers that they could get TEB if they can't find anyone, I really think they deserve 2 because of their improvements too
Well Canada only has one space and they've got plenty of their own teams that they can invite so it's a fat chance that they'll get it, same with USA, Russia and Japan (since Chris Reed has teamed up with Kana Muramoto). Not sure about China's 3rd spot, they do have a team that I vaguely remember from 4CC but I don't know if they'll be there. That leaves TEB having the best chances for Sara and Adria to get another spot
