This team is only 8th after SD but they scored very well when taking consideration that hey had a big error in there and the fact that they have skated together only about 2 months or so. He is the former partner of the girl who got hit by drunk driver about 3 months ago.

Oh, no, not only his previous partner was in the car accident, she will also lose a dance partner? That's not very nice! If some skaters can wait for their partner because he was banned for a year (Bazarova waited for Larionov), I am sure this bloke could have waited until she is back on her feet. Not very impressed.

Well, at the time Bazarova/Larionov were one of the best if not the best junior pair in the world, so, for Vera it would have been very difficult if not impossible to find a partner of similar level which is why it made sense to wait a year for him. Klikich/Ragimov were not that great and after the accident there were probably a big uncertainty if she can ever even resume her skating career. So, I can totally understand why he choose to look for a new partner. At the moment things looks pretty promising for him because I think he looked pretty good with his new partner. Looking for a new partner was most likely a good thing for his career.

The accident was if I recall correctly around Christmas, in December. A few weeks ago there was an article that she is back on the ice. A partner who can't wait a few months for his injured partner will definitely not get much of my fan support. It wasn't as if he was about to lose a few years waiting for her.

She is not back on training yet and most likely she won't be a competitive skater next season even if she does come back.

He told that clearly fulfills all the recommendations of doctors and has even tried to go on the ice, shared plans that really wants to return to the sport next year, if everything goes, even plans to speak at the event.

- I know you have tried to get up on the ice, what feelings?

- Just like the first time. Although I expected it to be better. But it did not work very well. I do not have is speed, because the muscles are not inflated, and I generally can not make any movement. I even jogging can not do so as long as there are no muscles.

It looks very promising indeed. They had the 3rd best score in FS and their combined total score was better than what he had ever scored with his previous partner. In FS they had the 2nd best TES of all the teams, Polishchuk/Vakhnov among others had lower TES than this new team. Only Shpilevaya/Smirnov had higher TES. For some reason there are no video of their FS. I wouldn't be surprised if they would make it to the JGP next season.

They might look very promising, but the fact remains that he dumped his partner when she needed him most. I am not against changing partners generally, but his timing sucked. So I am sorry but I can't feel the enthusiasm you feel for the new partnership. They may get to JGP, whatever. I do believe in karma and I hope that his new partner will dump him as soon as he is injured. And athletes do get injured from time to time. Like it happened to Larionov after he dumped Bazarova for Zabijako, and the next season she dumped him because she couldn't be bothered to wait when he got injured. Karma.
