I will keep my opinion anyway and you don t have to trash the rest of the field only to defend Ilinykh .

Rest of the field trash themselfs by not working on their edges, their power and their knee work to become better skater. Just look at how Penny Coomes is skating in 2014 and 2015. Working for your skating skills is very hard but very rewarding.. Look at Papadakis for another example. Ice dance facts defends those girls as well, not just Ilinykh.

I really like Ilinykh but i think she is overhyped, especially after the last year split.

Just had to remind Ilinykh is olympic bronze medalist before the split.

Looking at them from behind and distance today, i realized that she, in my opinion, doesn't use her body to fully express the music, i found her heavy on the ice, stiffed. Ruslan is better at this respect. The speed- they didn't have spectacular speed, good edges- i think, at this level, almost everyone there has... so for me, it was more important how they express the music, how they DANCE.

Saying I/Z doesn't have speed is like saying Patrick Chan doesn't have speed.
Again, what you think isn't what is actually there. You can't say their edges are shallow because the fact is their edges are deep. Seriously or maybe your definition of "deep" is like 180 degree on the ice. Again, what I find absolutely funny in Fs is that many people keep bragging about their "opinion" and throw facts away through the window.
There are some skaters I don't like, for example, Kovtun. But I will never say: "His jumps are small, that's my opinion." Because the fact is his jumps are huge, I can't deny the facts.

I liked all of the Russian ladies. As a huge fan of Radionova, I hate to see her getting crappy or even just OK programs. I don't know if it's her idea, her coach's, or Morozov's, but why does she keep recycling other people's music? The Rach that Michelle did previously, now Je t'amei which is an exhibition that Julia previously did. And Mariah Bell performed to Titanic when she was a junior!! I just don't get what her team is thinking...I know she can emote, and she can perform the heck out of anything, but she still needs quality music! I feel like her best music choices were a couple years back when she was in junior competition.

So it's the program and not the skills? I/Z's program will look more polished next month and with the right costuming you might like it better.

It's good that you like her. I can't imagine what your opinion would be if you didn't liked her.

I just rewatched Medvedeva's SP and I must say that it grows on me (despite the fact that I think having all jumping passes in the 2nd half of the program is bad layout/bad choreography). Her outfit is a little distracting, but I really liked small things, like that turn in the Y-spiral in the beginning and the I-spin with her back straight (or slightly bend backwards). Very good musicality. This program will score very high.

I am worried for Ilinykh. She has an incredible amount of talent but I fear that something is going on behind the scenes. She was a mess at Worlds and she looked sluggish compared to Ruslan today.

I don't get it. Is she never to skate to music someone else previously skated to? plenty of great skaters used music previously used by other skaters.. It's more about how the skater interprets the music IMO. Julia was not the first person to skate to Schindler's List or Elvis. Gracie is skating to Firebird. You know Carmen and Phantom will show up this year. Picking music is probably not easy. Why are u not finding the music quality, because someone else skated to previously?

I would be interested in seeing all the programs after the skaters are back in shape and polished, but Elena looked fine to me and I liked the music.

Another video of I/Z. When did Ruslan get so good? I never ever thought I'd see Elena being outshine by her partner and yet here we are! And it's not that she regressed, he's just grown so much.

Thanks so much for posting! They look like they are having SO MUCH FUN. I love how they were both singing along at various points too. So uplifting to see.

Evgenia SP is nice but kind of boring.
Liza SP is definitely better than last year and her costume is beautiful.
B/S very good program, I don´t like her red hair but the program is beautiful.
Y/M are great, sooo elegant, I love the program and their skating :yes:.
I/Z I don´t like the program, especially the second part, but it is ok, their FD will be great.
