2015-16 Russian Test skates

I swear on all things holy that while watching the 2003 Sasha Cohen FS at WC last night, the one where she fell out of a camel spin, the announcer who was German kept saying "triple cherry flip". What the fudge is cherry flip in German :confused2:

Do you have an Link? Without i cannot help.

I have to say, I really don't think I'm watching the videos of Y/M that everyone else is. To me they looked promising and talented, but their lack of experience on the senior level looked very noticeable to me. I'm sure they'll be great in coming season's but at this point I don't see them getting out of Russia this year. Perhaps I'll change my mind!

(upd this is about the "rental" thing
Frequently they also translate it as ride (кататься may mean ride like "ride a horse")

Tarasova and Mozorov look good but I just don't like the music. In this case it's really not them it's me. Maybe I'm just in a sleepy mood but they too were putting me to sleep with that music.

Thanks a lot for the explanations... Google translations are sometimes amusing.

It's even better with names & initials - Sergei Brain (Mozgov), Andrei MP (Deputat) and the Security Council (S/B).

None of the free dances look really ready to me. In terms of concept, I/Z have the most potential but still need a lot of work, Y/M are just proving again after H/D that Great Gatsby medleys don't work (and they were falling to pieces towards the end of the program. S/B is a snooze - they had the opportunity after their European medal to claim a place firmly on the team, but neither of their dances stand out, and the FD is slow and heavy. Will be interesting to see if B/S skated their program any better than they did last week, but ever since the first time I saw it skated last year I just find it incredibly flat.

Agreed - too soft and quiet. I think this team needs to show programs that show they have a personality. I did enjoy the SP, though.

I was terribly confused the first 50 times when I saw Russian Nationals translated as "the Czech Republic"...I kept wondering what competition was happening there!

Ugh...well...all the free dances need work.

I liked IZ'S FD, I thought it was the best FD from the ones I saw, but it lacked the energy Carmen had. I expected more honestly, but I like it. If I had to pick on something it would be transitions. I thought they need a lot of work on transitions. For example, the transition out of the first lift is awkward. Transition in and out of the second lift also needs work and was also awkward. I think they almost came to a complete stop out of the second lift and it seemed more out of necessity than what the choreo called for. As the season progresses I expect themail program overall to flow better.

YM I am not crazy about the music cut. It's too choppy. They dance it well and have some interesting lifts and elements. Interestingly they were less awkward than IZ, but on their very last one they were also very awkward. Some of it, maybe because of the music is choppy and doesn't flow.

Overall, honestly, I thought all the teams looked better last year at this point.

Underwhelmed with T/M :/ The choreo is bleh and the beginning is especially weird. They have great quality of elements and skating skills; it's disappointing to see them get programs below their potential.

I disagree. Last year at this point, I&Z didn't skate whole programs at the closed tests (they didn't participate in the open test) and BS weren't there either but it was the same for them also. Didn't do complete programs. Y&M probably were better because they were in juniors and had to compete earlier.
