So who are those special skaters? And what is more interesting is the number of special skaters that could be considered and counted as "a lot", because, IMO, Russian ladies situation is unique.i don't think we should be doing a withchunt and i don't think we should be promoting the Russians are evil conspiracy - what we need is love, tolerance and respect. if there are conspiracy theories insprot can you imagine at the world level of politics. these are young ladies - very young in many cases. let's save our claws for something real and not speculate which i understand is not allowed on these boards. there may not be a lot of special skaters in Russia but they sure have a lot of very good skaters and very good potential skaters.
Marin Honda shook the great tree, now Gracie is hitting it with the axe...
Somebody call somebody. :scard7:
Oh cmon, you were so proud occupying Junior Worlds podiums since 2011, it must have hurt a little bit.LOL, Marin would not even mount a cactus if there was no "meldonium", just kidding. But honestly these two situations are absolutely not comparable.

All that debate over who to send to Worlds and look who ended up on the podium
Congrats to Evgenia on her World title and World record and Pogo on her bronze with two solid skates
Congrats to Radionova too on her top 6 placement!
I'll say the state is strong![]()

Still, I'm pretty sure one of these will take revenge in the nearest future:
Russian Talented Young Girls (2003~2006) :agree:

::cool2:I think next year the "older" russian girls could come back strong and be on top again. Sot and Lip and maybe even Tuk. These women are now in post-puberty age, they had their "bad year" that happens from time to time to every athlete but i think they are ready to dominate again

She is definitely not happy about it. Neither am I.
She has to back to the choreography class in order to keep her winning hopes alive. Her program this year was disappointing - basically skating from band to band with a dramatic face expression and flapping her arms to a hideous music. It will not win her much. She was my favorite, I was rooting for her and I was disappointed. She has to deliver a mature program.
I think the judges gave her clear messages all season with her PCS vs Evgenia. Evgenia is killing her (and most of the field) in PCS. Maybe this will motivate her to get better programs? Maybe not. Let's see if she stays with Morozov. I hope not.She has nobody to blame but herself and her team. I still can't believe that someone thought this program was a great idea, then add in the speaking parts and I was too throughI think the judges gave her clear messages all season with her PCS vs Evgenia. It would be crucial the next GP assignments: are Leonova and Artemieva still able to compete at the GP? How many spots has Russia now?

It's ironic, because Morozov also did Anna's programs & they're perfect for her. He is sooo hit & miss, & I don't really understand if it's just a matter of who he clicks with, or if someone has to pay extra to get the "better" choreo vs the cut rate kind. But he doesn't seem like a good fit for Elena. Who did her Anna Karenina program, Averbuch? I would like to see her get something like that again.
