No, Alisa placement after short and Maria second place finish secured three spots for next year.

Just Maria will be age eligible for Sr. worlds next year. I know she is not considered one of the superstars but I like her. I think it might be the personality. I hope she has a successful skating career.

Yes, they will be eligible, but it remains to be seen if they'll be able to maintain their pre-puberty condition or not...

Really bummed about Polina and Alisa--at least they'll hopefully have another chance next year!!

Actually, she won't be senior-age eligible until 2017-18 season. She just turned 14 this past February, so she'll be 15 in February 2017, which means she can go senior in 2017-18 season..

Definitely. The internal competitions among Russian junior girls next season will be much more intense than ever. I am quite interested in Liza N. & Alisa Lozko's junior debut and looking forward to Maria's senior appearance next year. It is good to see that all these Russian girls are very hungry for victories...

The amount of juniors who qualified themselves to skate in the JGP next season is mind boggling. Make one mistake and someone else is going to take your spot in an instant. I can see why Maria would say that lol.

No. Alisa just turned 14 in February so the Olympic season will be her first season of senior eligibility.

The internal competitions among Russian junior girls this season were (and will be - Spartakiad and Nats Elder Age) very intense and very high level.
I've seen alive how skate Panenkova, Tarusina, Gulyakova, Mitrofanova, Mukhortova, Kurakova (from Moscow, age eligible for GP next season), Nugumanova, Samodurova (also eligible from StPetersburg), and non-eligible (too young) Vasilyeva, Scherbakova, Trusova, Kostornaya etc.
They all are very nice skaters and very strong competitors.

And there are skaters whom I did not see alive, also very strong (Konstantinova, Lozko etc.)

I don't know will they be more strong than Sotskova but I know - they are really strong.

Definitely! There are so many naturally talented Russian junior girls eligible for the JGP events next season that I have already lost count, Alex! Such spurts of rising stars are a rare sight in FS world. :cool2: Since I am a devoted follower of Mishin, I'd love to root for Liza N. and Lozko next year, but I am still sincerely wishing all of these beautiful girls to make a successful junior debut, and above all this, be healthy & happy!

Unfortunately I listened to a mini podcast on cbc.ca today with Kurt Browning(recorded just before he went to commentate on Junior Worlds) and he unfortunately is a member of the conspiracy. I don't know when it was recorded - but I think it was well after the fact, so maybe do a little research before saying those kinds of things. I think it is one thing to discuss meldonium and another to "hmm" about it in regards to individual athletes, especially ones so young. Reading about their injuries, it's pretty clear both injuries happened in sight of others, so there's no justification for trying to read anything else into it.

I might, might be a little lenient if these injuries happened away from any non partisan eyes, and there was no official word on them - or at least little word - but that's not the case. It still wouldn't make any sense though - why send 2 girls to worlds knowing there might be a risk of them testing for meldonium and then withdraw? ALSO would Polina not have been drug tested at the Youth Olympics? If she was clean there, why on earth would she not be clean weeks later? They wouldn't dope her up for a few weeks in between with that kind of risk.

i don't think we should be doing a withchunt and i don't think we should be promoting the Russians are evil conspiracy - what we need is love, tolerance and respect. if there are conspiracy theories insprot can you imagine at the world level of politics. these are young ladies - very young in many cases. let's save our claws for something real and not speculate which i understand is not allowed on these boards. there may not be a lot of special skaters in Russia but they sure have a lot of very good skaters and very good potential skaters.

Speaking about ladies, still much more than elsewhere. If Konstantinova and Lozko replaced Tsurskaya and Fedichkina, Russia still would have had a chance to sweep the podium.
