2015 Lombardia Trophy (Italy), Sep 17 - 20

Mmmm. With Eliska Brezinova and Elizaveta Ukolova being disappointing the past couple of seasons, it looks like the Czech Republic have started a different tactic - adopting Koreans!

Unfortunately, KO Da-Hyun had lots of deductions (THREE points!!! ), and so had dropped to 5th overall with 3 to go.

But, she is 1 place ahead of the Korean Korean that started the group! ;)

Well, there's no disputing who is going to be top Korean at the Lombardia - YUN Sun-Min had a good skate.

But, I don't think it will be good enough to take the lead from Anastasia SCHNEIDER, who went before her.

Just Annika HOCKE of Germany to go, and she was only 0.2 ahead of Sun-Min. So, it could be a close finish.

EDIT: Shows you what I know - Sun-Min took the lead in both the FS and overall!!! :slink:

Right, one final opportunity to make a fool out of myself before the end of the competition.

I give the win to Hocke.

EDIT: I knew this would happen! :bang: She was FOURTH!!!

I think it's time for a feed! :slink:

Although I saw the final 2 groups yesterday, I'm not sure if I'll be back to see any of the Junior Men today.

What happened with Elisabetta LECCARDI? (JrLadies FS)
Hard fall and maybe serious injury.

Yes to both, unfortunately.

I don't like to speculate, but the main concern seemed to be her neck. That was where she was pointing at while lying on the ice. And the medical team put a neck/head brace on her before they moved her onto the stretcher.

I really hope we get an update on her condition within the next few days.

The fall was a flip that just went bad, she came down on her left side and it appeared her left temple hit the ice. At no point did she seem to lose consciousness. Wishing her all the best.

Yikes! How exactly did she fall...did you see it, CaroLiza_fan?

Thank you for answering gallavich's question. I was away getting food!

Yeah, I did see it, but I can't remember much. Once we realised that it was bad (i.e. when she didn't get up), I was more concerned about how the poor girl was than trying to work out how it happened.

If you want to read my LIVE running commentary of the aftermath, it starts at this post.

By the way, that "massive bruise" I was talking about was the whole length of her thigh. So, it was a pretty hard landing there.

Again, I wish Elisabetta all the best for her recovery

How has the live-streaming been for this event? I was thinking of trying to catch some of tomorrow's events.

We all know why you want to know about the livestream - you want to watch a certain Miss Stavitskaya!

I don't blame you - I'm the same! Apart from the fact that she is absolutely stunning  , I'm really curious to see how she goes as an Ice Dancer.

To answer your question, although it does not have the fuctionality of the YouTube streams, I've been happy with the quality of the stream.

There have only really been 2 things to complain about.

The first is that the main camera has a tendency to mist up. On the first day, it misted up really bad. To the extent that by the end of the Junior Ladies SP and during the Junior Men's SP, you could only just see the skaters.

Although it did mist up a bit yesterday, it was not anywhere near the same extent as it was on Thursday. It was only just noticable.

The only other complaint is that the person operating the graphics is not always paying total attention! Sometimes they don't put them up until the skater has already started. Sometimes they forget to take them off. That sort of thing.

Yesterday, there was a lot of experimenting going on with the graphics. They were experimenting with ways of displaying the scores, and with the positioning of sponsors logos.

But, I reckon things will run a lot smoother today, now that they have had a couple of days to practice.

Arrrgh!!! I just looked at the schedule today, and realised that I won't be able to see the Ladies SP or the Short Dance!!! And they are the categories I particularly wanted to see this weekend!!! :bang:

Just had a look on YouTube, and there are a few users uploading videos from the Lombardia Trophy. But, they are all being very selective in which videos they upload.

There is a Japanese user who is only uploading the male skaters. Meanwhile, there are a few Korean users that are only uploading the Korean skaters (including KO Da-Hyun, who is actually representing the Czech Republic!)

Hopefully more videos will start appearing over the next week or so.

1st group of senior ladies on the ice , good luck to everyone :cheer:

Is it my internet connection or is the stream really choppy?

ETA: It's unwatchable. What a shame. Am I going to have to spend my wedding anniversary hanging out with my husband instead of watching skating all day? Unheard of!

stream is fine for me,
well there is 1st time for everything

The stream is fine on my ipad, but streaming it via appletv is proving a bit too much.
Curious: why are the ladies sitting in the kiss 'n cry without their coaches?

welcome to forum takunka! :cheer: although it seems like you have been around for a while

i think its because those 2 skaters from Finland have same coach, cause both of them were there after 2nd one's skate
