2016-17 Ills and Injuries

Poor Denis, he can't seem to get through a season without injuries and withdrawing from competitions.

Can we light candles that nobody withdraws from Skate Canada? I'll be there in person, so I hope I get to see everyone.

So many skaters seem to be dealing with injuries this season. Some of my favorites are out of the Grand Prix. :sad4:

This makes me worried for Kevin Reynolds. I hope no more WD from GP for him. It's been almost 4 years since he last competed at the GP series....which was when I was still in high school.

GoldenSkate is a positive forum for discussion on figure skating. What I really love about this community is that most people are reasonable and explain their differing opinions.

Please stop bringing around your negativity, baseless speculation and bias against Denis Ten. The poor guy is injured and has been struggling to reach his potential for a while. This is not the first time I have seen you make short posts suggesting there is something wrong with his integrity.

Anyone knows how Sota Yamamoto's doing lately? He's broken his ankle again in the summer, I heard. He's listed in TEB so I hope he's fine by now.

no... so sorry about Sota withdraw from GP series. I sincerely hope his team doesn't rush anything at this point. He's very young, there is 2022 Oly Games for him to shine. Thanks for the updates, silverfoxes and riminin.

This makes me so sad to hear about poor Sota.:sad4:

Oh no...the stitches look really painful. I'm worried about how they are going to do lifts and holding with the two fingers almost cut off. I hope for a quick recovery from the unfortunate accident and safe training from now on.

I wonder about it too. There are not even two weeks left to CoC... The fingers have fortunately tendons and nerves intact. But from what I remember when I had fingertip almost cut off, the healing took few weeks and Maks has definitely more serious injury

They said on Instagram, everything is under control, but they have to compete two GPs back to back; Cup of China and NHK Trophy. It is their GP debut, so they definitely want to keep on going, but given Julia's case at Rostelecom, it would be better for them to skip the GP events, and to focus on the recovery process before Nationals and Euros.

Damn, I think they should at least skip COC. It's not like they are contenders for the final . They already have good WS points for Euros so no need to rush it.
