Even if Liza retires without making another world team, a WGM and landing multiple 3As are tremendous achievements that she can be very proud of.
Totally agree. But it is so rare to have a world champion who isn't an olympian. Im sure this thought is nagging her...The olympics is such a wonderful moment for these athletes no doubt.
TAT ain't proud of Liza at all - she destroyed her live during nationals saying she can't skate much. Artistry and elegance is not her thing and she can only win with technical effort. The other commentator tried to oppose: "you don't become world champion, if you can't skate" to which TAT replied "yes, you do".Even if Liza retires without making another world team, a WGM and landing multiple 3As are tremendous achievements that she can be very proud of.

One could say the same about her pet Kovtun. At least Liza has the ability to skate 2 good programs once in awhile without any serious meltdowns.
True, but the last time Liza managed to do so is two year ago. That's a long time in figure skating. One could say the same about her pet Kovtun. At least Liza has the ability to skate 2 good programs once in awhile without any serious meltdowns.
Picture from today, in boots! She was mentioned in an article about another skater, not sure which skater, in late December. They article mentions Tsurskaya having surgery. I'm assuming on the ankle she hurt during last year's Junior World's.

Has Tursynbaeva left Orser or is it just occasional training?

Good to see that Medvedeva is working on a half loop combo and she's doing a four jump combo of course. 3Lo-3T-1Lo-3S.
I would like it if she could get rid of the 2A-2T-2T combo in the FS.
What about 2A-1Lo-3S, then 3Lo-2T (or 2Lo), 2A as the last 3 jumping passes? She would repeat the 3Lo instead of the 3T, I think that would be a nice layout and quite beneficial point wise.
You're right, it wouldn't make a difference point wise. Shows that Eteri is a smart lady. I just think that the 2A-2T-2T isn't very appealing. I would at least wish for a 2A-2T-2Lo.Unfortunately what she gains with the 3Lo (0.8 points) she loses with the 1Lo. However if she's planning 3Lo-1Lo-3S then that removes the danger of accidentally doing 3 2Ts in her program, though at least you only lose the points for the 3rd 2T these days. The 4 jump combo won't be allowed, think she's just showing off/doing something harder so the actual combo will seem that much easier. Agree with you with the 2A-2T-2T, surprised she doesn't go down the 3F-2T-2Lo route, her best jump for combo purposes, plus if problems with the initial 3F-3T then revert to the 2A-2T-2T with the 2nd 3F becoming the 3F-3T just like in the GPF.
