With all due respect, perhaps this discussion could be moved to its own thread? I realize it started with Evgenia but...Hopefully getting back on topic, I am very curious if anyone has any early predictions for the ladies' field for Russian Nationals. Obviously Medvedeva is the overwhelming favorite for gold, but if anyone has a chance to change that, I think it's Pogorilaya. If Tuktamysheva were in her 2014-2015 form, I would include her as well (especially if her 3A were on form), but at this point, I think she will be very lucky to make the podium at all.
Elizaveta will need a 3A if she wants to challenge Evgenia even a little bit. Evgenia has better ice coverage, speed, transitions, choreography and spins. Her jumps don't have Eliza's beauty but she's performing harder elements that garner a lot of points. A perfect Anna can give Evgenia a run for her money but that's about it. Elizaveta will be duking it out with Elena and Maria for the third spot in my opinion
That is not a metric. A metric can be measured in units. Now it's probably best that this discussion ends here. Multiple members have refuted your claims and you're just arguing for the sake of arguing at this point.
I think based on 2016 Worlds, the judges could make Ashley a threat if she goes clean. Had she been perfect, her free program score could have approached 150 as well. Not to mention nearly 74 PCS.
If Anna stays consistent, I can see her FS scores go up as well. I personally prefer Anna and Ashley's styles much more but Evgenia's consistency is incredible.

Anyways, seems like Elena is still holding onto that third spot at COC. I still don't know where those high SS skills come from. I wonder how many Russian ladies will end up in the GPF. Evgenia, possible with Anna, Elena and Maria. 2014-2015 GPF also had 4 Russian ladies as well.

Ignoring all the superficial comments about Elena's dress and makeup today, I'm really enjoying her Porgy and Bess short program this year. I think she does programs to "traditional" music a whole lot better than pop.

I think her make-up and dress looked fantastic today.
If scored fairly I think Tsurskaya has a perfectly legitimate shot at beating Medvedeva. Strategy-wise it would be stupid to hold back her PCS the year before the Olympics.
On that note, are all the girls who competed on the JGP circuit competing senior at nationals? If so this will be the most competitive Russian Nats ever. And that's saying something.

I think the cuteness and sass of Porgy and Bess works super well for her because she's so charismatic. The LP does not even though it's as traditional as it gets - though she can still win me over.
Elena's SP today looked the least sloppy she's been since before last season. Which for Elena, is a pretty big deal
. Her posture wasn't amazing but her shoulders weren't up to her ears, which I consider a victory. No more gloves please though! She isn't very graceful with her hands and the gloves just draw attention to it.Oh yeah Tsurskaya has a chance too, I was thinking more about the World team but I have a hard time imaging her PCS as high as the senior ladies. Evgenia + Anna usually deliver quite well at Nationals so I expect them to be on top.

Predictions for Nationals...hmm. Definitely Evgenia in first, no question. Second...probably Pogorilaya, maaaaaybe Tsurskaya if she's perfect. Third, Maria, Elena, or whoever of Polina and Anna doesn't get second.

No way. The situation is clear. 1. Medvedeva, 2. Pogorilaya, 3. Radionova, 4. Tsurskaya, 5. Sotskova, 6. Tuktamysheva. The only question is if Polina can beat one of the first three in the season 2017/2018. I am not sure if it is possible.

If all go clean, I see Polina beating Radionova. Especially if she develops her artistic abiltiies even more. Her jumps will get huge GOE. (hope she stopped growing though, she is already taller than all of the girls)
Hmm, it is true. She is already 172 cm tall. Masha has the same "problem": she is 170 cm tall.
Elena wins here, with gold and silver she can still be Russia number 2.
Liza is in good shape, if she lands the 3A and perform the rest of the programs, to me she will be in the world team, without that element 5th or 6th place.
At this point NHK trophy and GPF could define the ranking at nationals.

Let's see what Pogo will show at NHK Trophy before saying something about numbers. I hope - Pogo will be Russia number 1....
I wish her the best there but Japan is in trouble at the moment: Satoko and Wakaba are their best skaters at the moment and they have just a bronze medal, Mai is already out with this 4th place, Rika and Mao disappointing this season; also Masha Sotskova will be there, Mariah Bell... the field is crowded and everyone wants those medals.
