2016-2017 Japanese Nationals Ladies SP

I still don't understand these component marks. Yeah Mao made one mistake, but why does that have her down at 32 for PCS ?? I wish skaters like her and Carolina were rewarded for their superior skating skills just like younger skaters are rewarded for their jumps.

With the help of technical panel as well. She is still the kind of skater who has to depend her life on technical panel. That fact will never change. For now JSF can inflate her score to the roof. But image a strong US lady appears, she will be thrown under the bus.

I don't see how the technical panel "helped" her today. All of her jumps were rotated. I don't see any strong US lady who can "throw her under the bus" any time soon. Can I congratulate her without getting quoted just to be reminded how overscored / overrated / prerotated / underrotated by default she is? No, thank you. I read the same kind of posts all the time here. :)

To me, one thing that sets Satoko apart from all the other skaters is how polished her performance is. Watching her performance here, I never felt like there was a moment of "sloppiness". Her movements are really fluid.

2 and 3 undecided :agree:

I agree. Just like Ashley, Satoko is pretty much at mercy of tech panel. I have no idea what will happen at Worlds as GPS/GPF are events hugely depending on the Japanese.

It would be nice to read a compliment about Satoko and her many beautiful qualities without the usual suspects rushing in to rip apart everything she does.

Come on, this how it is. I can say the same 1000 times about Evgenya. No matter how good she skates there is an immediate follow-up with posts of critics. I just hope that those who praize other skaters are not among them. Otherwise, it is just a partizan battle.

Satoko has a lot of qualities, for sure - her FP this season is very powerful. I am glad she keeps working on her jumps: Russian ladies need someone to challenge them. Otherwise, international events will become boring.

Why would she be spared of her PR and UR issue just because she is consistent and hard-working? The benefits she is getting is unfair to other girls who have less PR and UR issue than her. They robbed Miss Pogorilaya a silver at GPF to give it to Miss Miyahara. Does that sound fair? Why people should not voice their opinion about it?

Not sure who "they" are who "robbed Miss Pogorilaya a silver at GPF to give it to Miss Miyahara"--but nonetheless, that's just your opinion.
