2016 US Nationals Senior Men SP

I remember watching Emmanuel and Nathan as super talented mini novices. It's fun to watch them throwing quads and skating with character on the senior level. :)

I'm watching Nathan's novice exhibition and giggling at how adorable he was and wow-ing at how he's throwing quads now.

Now that Nathan has done a two-quad SP, I'm very curious to see if Max will do the same. I hope so!

He won't. That would require him to do a quad toe, and he's not bringing that back yet.

Suppose he outskates one of Rippon or Aaron? Honestly, as much as I love Adam's skating, Chen seems less risky if he's hitting.

But he didn't fully hit tonight and the score he got here can be achieved without one quad. His 4T combo was beautiful though.

You're probably correct. I assumed equal reward and penalty for an element. So, ISU decided quad mistakes should be penalized more than good qualities rewarded.

Yes. I think it was part of a compromise on the contentious issue of how much credit you should get if you attempt a quad but fall.

That was a lot of fun! Shame about the pop... and the fall... and the music...

but I'll definitely be putting that on my rewatch list!
