2017-18 State of Russian Ladies skating

i don't know if you've noticed that, but there was a pretty funny moment with Alena in KnC, where Daniil was making fun of Alena's cute voice :)
Daniil: "Voice!" (speak!)
Alena: "Mama, papa!"

when they saw the score:
Daniil: is it because of the green hair?

then later, in the end:
Alena: I have to text to my mom
Daniil: Come on, wait a little :)

I’m nervous and I’m praying for Alina. It’s been a big week, I hope everything comes together for the first time in her SP.

oh my goodness!! That is great!
but what's up with the green hair?

Even if she doesn't, we saw her fight back to win every competition she entered. I'm not concerned, she's got this.

AKTKN provided a translation for Alena's interview. It's a very interesting read. Some interesting moments from there:

- Did you not train like that before?

- We trained before, but not like that when you need to skate programs every day and reskate them at a slightest mistake. In the past, for example, when we made a jump in the program, did not succeed, we repeated jump, and that was it - we finished. And here if a jump did not work out - you skate the whole program again.

- When you returned from Grand Prix stages, your parents probably had a celebration at home?

- No. It's just a junior Grand Prix. A small part of what can be achieved in sport.

Also there are very interesting interviews with Tarakanova and Erokhov, but i haven't seen any translations yet.

- At training, you have to reskate programs many times. But after that you go to competitions, and feel like you are on a vacation: after a skate you are free to go, without even loosing you breath.

This is the best quote, really. It's a completely different attitude from most that I've seen. Especially the way Finnish figure skaters talk about figure skating...

Because they don't have the age to go there (14 years old) and that's the rule at least for this year.
The rule was the same in previous years.
But then, coaching council made exceptions for JGPF finalists.

I'm really starting to think that they don't want to make an exception this year because they don't want some senior ladies to look silly when they will lose to juniors. Well, anyway its a senior nationals, and juniors will have a good chance to beat them few years later  But still, if Kostornaya will score at nationals like she did at russian cup - she will most likely overcome everyone except her teammates :)

I'd say, I witnessed quite a satisfying* short program by Russian ladies in JGPF today.

* OMG, I can't breathe, it was the most sensational, perfect, amazing, wonderful, breathtaking show on EARTH!!! :yahoo:

Indeed.
I can already see they winning Olympic medals, specially Kostornaya and Trusova.
The best!
And actually, there is not one "bad" performance. They are all incredibly amazing!
Ladies JGPF is giving me life. [emoji813]

Daniil: "Voice!"
Alena: "Mama, papa!"
Actually, he said "speak", a dog command.

Just as Suvorov used to say, "Train hard, fight easy!"
