At her age, it is probably going to be hard to make big changes in technique. Mao struggled for years to get a consistently solid lutz, as has Ashley, and neither really ever did. I also don't think skating for 5 more years is realistic, mainly because I don't think an OGMist will be eager to fight for achievements that won't match what she accomplished at 17.

True, but maybe she is not doing it for the accomplishments. Maybe (speculation) she just want to compete? And actually enjoy competitive skating? Ever since she turned senior (with the exception being Sochi of course) she looked absolutely petrified right at the beginning of her programs. It is understandable with all the pressure on her shoulders. Maybe she wants to see if it will be different this time. Last year, despite not having major international success, she really looked to have fun out there. I, for one, would love to see her skating again, it will be a bit of fresh air. Just like I love having Caro back, even though her TES is currently not competitive enough.

I actually think that consistency comes first, and edge goes second. Many skaters nowadays have edge issues, and its not always getting called and blablabla
But if a lady (specially russian) cannot land most of her triples with some consistency, she is out of all major competitions. Just considering the russian team next year, well, Medvedeva hits her stuff 99% time. Zagitova most of the time. Anna also has a lot of solid performances. Elena is out there too. And a bunch of other girls who can skate 2 good programs from time to time. Which means its virtually impossible to go past russian nationals unless you manage to skate well there at least.
 
I asked the same question a number of times in the past two years, but no one answered.
However, it seems that some folks know more about her. What I have gathered from posts here and there is that she has career ending injuries, and also she is doing pairs.
But when I asked for more info, such as, who is her partner, no answers. So I don't know how reliable the info is. :(

Nothing ... in principle...
given the circumstances though it is becoming more and more ridiculous. The world of FS has moved on but Adelina's mind seems to be still in 2014
she was asked about her plans, how easy it would be to reply on the lines - first of all I need to regain my form and start competing again etc etc
In her present state I doubt she can win a B-comp

What do you expect her to say? The sport has passed her up? While some of us think that is the case, she is certainly entitled to promote herself.

The pair skating won't be good for Proklova, she is injured again. She will finish her career. Unfortunately.

I don't see the point of nitpicking a 3-minute fluff interview for mainstream TV, nor do I see anything "sad" about having a goal. I see much less accomplished skaters talking about wanting an Olympic medal all the time...nobody is going to say they just want to win a B-competition!

Interesting that such a brief throwaway interview could cause you to lose all respect for her. But I'm sure she will manage without it.

Oh I dare say she will.
And to be precise I think I lot all respect for her when she 'fired' her long term coach Elena Vodorezova by a text message

If this is true (have no idea regarding the reliability of the source), it stinks of intentional sabotage of Alina's chance of OGM versus Evgenia. Don Quixote was a great showcase for Alina last season through allowing her to showcase her elements, but it's clearly a junior-level program. It was one thing when they were competing at different levels, but they'll have Alina competing against Evgenia using the hand-me-down program from Evgenia?

Ugh, what a disappointment. I was really looking forward to some development from her. We may see it in the SP, and I doubt the LP will be a carbon-copy, but it's still a pretty limiting vehicle for her, especially since she already won with it last season. During the Olympics, LPs matter a heck of a lot. Whatever you think of her, Eteri is usually pretty darn at developing and packaging her girls, but this is a major misstep.
